No, a small amount, 1-2 cups a day is ok. That is a regular sized cup though. I just read in a mag at my Dr's office not to drink starbucks. The large has 500mg of caffine. That is 5x the amount you can have. I knew a lady who drank 2 giant cups of starbucks everyday when preg and thought it was ok because it was only "2" cups. Now her kid is two and has ADD signs. I've heard too much caffine can cause that.

My doctors also said to limit caffeine to 2 servings per day. I love coffee, and have gone almost entirely decaf throughout my pregnancy. I used to make an 8-cup pot of coffee every morning, but now I only occasionally make coffee in the morning. When I'm out shopping, I get a decaf skim latte for a treat. Sometimes I make a small pot (4-cups) of decaf and micowave a mug 1/3 full of skim milk, then add the coffee. It also gets me more calcium! Give it a try!

I love my coffee and dr said to limit my caffene to 2 cups of coffee per day. I use half caf and can enjoy 4 cups of this. I love it !

So is one cup of coffee 8oz? Just curiuos??

they say to drink 1-2 cups of caffienated drinks a day if you must have it. I however drink i know 5 times that in a day. I suffer from migraines and have to have the caffiene my dr said the only issue is that my baby could be a little smaller/lower birth weight, I am 33 wks and haven't gained more than 20 lbs, but they say my baby is healthy and in great condition. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you start feeling your baby become frantic or not kicking as much as it should be.
