Hi, I thought it might be helpful for us to share some healthy food and snack ideas. I know I need some help (lol).

Here's mine. I have a hard time getting the dairy needed, so I've discovered something better than just a gla__s of milk. I take a good size gla__s of milk, throw it in the blender with some ice and a little real vanilla extract and blend until the ice is crushed. It is so creamy and rich and tastes almost as good as a real milkshake. Try it! I have one every morning on my way to work.

You could throw in some strawberries to make it even better! And get a fruit serving for the day. I'm going to try that one!

I've bought those small rubbermaid containers (snack size) and filled them with snacks to carry around. I'm 7weeks, and get nauseous if I don't eat enough. I fill them with yogurt and granola, fruit (am really lovin fruit right now!) cottage cheese, cheddar cheese and grapes, crackers, almonds, trail mix, dessert tofu, anything that will fit in them.

I like those little single servings of fruit, pull apart cheese, raisins, plums, oranges, nectarines, crackers, almost any fresh fruit I can get my hands on.

I like any fresh fruit. yogurt with berries in it. Nuts. Dried cranberries. Milk. Beef jerky. Cereal is good for you too, even junk like Lucky Charms is loaded and fortified with vitamins and minerals.

I also buy a bag of walnuts, crush them in my little processer/chopper and put them in a plastic bowl w/lid. I sprinkle an ounce or so onto my cereal in the morning to make breakfast more balanced.

Smoothie maker - I saved the recipe book and improvised. Plain unsweetened yogurt, frozen or fresh fruits, fruit juices and ice. Sometimes I throw in a little Splenda because I have to have sweet. I make a whole batch and pour it out into disposable plastic cups (16-oz), wrap in plastic wrap and throw the leftovers in the freezer. When ready for the frozen ones, remove the plastic and go 30 seconds at a time in the microwave to thaw! Experiment with your fruits and yogurt flavors. Even my hubby who doesn't like yogurt likes these!

Before I got pregnant I used to eat those meal replacement bars. Nutri bars they are better than the slim fast ones. Even the shakes are good.. Anyway has anyone heard if those are good to eat while pregnant? Perhaps for breakfast or snack? They are loaded with everything you need to replace a regular meal. Not to mention they taste like chocolate and are better for you than eating regular chocolate bars etc.. =)

I eat Rice Crackers, yogurt mixed with strawberries, apple, blueberries or sometimes a pear, Oats made from water and I add either a chopped apple or blueberries/mixed berries, crackers with low fat cream cheese spread.

Oh, another thing I like to do is eat old fashioned oatmeal. I make it with milk instead of water and add some crushed walnuts to it before cooking. I cook it in the microwave in a "deep" bowl for 3-4 minutes, then add half a packet of flavored oatmeal to make it taste good. Believe me, you will be so full when you eat this for breakfast. Sometimes I can't get it all down, though.

To Sindel -
I asked my dr about drinking dlim fast mixed with milk (because I don't like just plain milk), and she said it's fine as long as you don't use this stuff as meal replacements. So perhaps as a snack, but not as a meal. Baby needs nutrition from real food!

M, what are you eating then? Do you take anything for the heartburn? I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering.
