i know you're not supposed to eat it during pregnancy, but what about california rolls? are they ok b/c its imitation crab or is there anything to worry about b/c of the seaweed. i'm not normally a huge sushi fan, but i'm craving it now and ther're very few foods i want to eat. sucks huh.

Crab is fine, because it does not not have a high mercury level like other fish. Seaweed is totally fine as well. Stay away from raw fish though! Good luck

Califiornia rolls are completely fine for you! Eat as much as you want of them; you can also have the Unagi rolls which are really good to.

Eel roll aka Unagi roll are good too. Right? ocz its cooked eel. for sure cal. roll is okay coz its not raw.

Yes, the unagi is cooked and wrapped up in the rice as a maki, or you can get sushi pieces of it; as in cooked but on top of the rice. They are both OK as they are not raw. You can also try the tempura or the udon soups, they are really tasty and they are quite good for you as well!

I live in the Far East in Hong Kong i am british though and i have been eating sushi all the way through my pregnancy, just make sure you eat from a proper restuarant and they are preparing it fresh and i hasnt been sitting on the conveyer belt fo hours on end.... try to stay away from the sashimi though!!!

The problem with sushi is not the fact they have fish in them, but the potential for the fish to be contaminated with bugs such as listeria. If you make them yourself, then you can ensure optimum hygiene in preparation and you don't have to worry!
