I am now 21 weeks....I started to complain at 11 wks with my original post. Well, the Dr. said as the hormones taper off and level the headaches would go away. I endured 16 weeks of a permanent headache. All day...everyday...all night and now they are gone except for an occasional headache that is nothing out of the normal! Who would have guessed it would last well into the 2nd trimester. This was after neurologist appointments and almost having a brain mri! There is hope afterall for an enjoyable pregnancy.

This is my second pregnancy, and I am getting bad headaches too. I was really worried something was wrong because it didn't happe with my first. Thanks to reading about all of you I feel a little better. My head still hurts but I am less worried about a tumor!

I am 17 weeks and get headaches everyday. My doc said it was fine to take Tylenol Sinus or Tylenol Allergy as long as your in the second trimester. It works! Regular tylenol doesent work at all for me.

Kathleen - October 4

Thanks for the tip on the allergy/sinus meds. I am going to check with my doctor to see if ok and hopefully try it. I can't stand the pain anymore!

i am 10 weeks 6 days, the headaches just started last week and tylenol doesn't do a thing. i don't even know if i should be taking tylenol right now, but i can't function with this head-splitting pain all day every day. i cut out caffeine about six weeks ago, so my doctor keeps telling me to have some coffee.. but wouldn't caffeine withdrawal set in sooner??

TRULY FRUSTRATED TO TEARS - October 25

WOW, I KNEW IT WAS COMMON TO GET HEADACHES DURING PREGNANCY I JUST DIDN'T REALIZE HOW COMMON. I AM NOW IN MY 23rd WEEK AND STILL HAVING SEVERE HEADACHES. I'M NOT A NEWBEE AT THIS STUFF EITHER I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING. THERE ARE DAYS I JUST CRY FROM NO RELIEF ALTHOUGH ANY TYPE OF EMOTION OR MOVEMENT MAKES IT WORSE. MY DOCTORS PRETEND LIKE ITS NO BIG DEAL. IT MAKES ME SO MAD. I'M CARRYING TWINS NOW AND ALREADY HAVE TWO CHILDREN 13 AND 8. SO MY WHOLE LIFE COMES TO A COMPLETE HALT WHEN THEY COME, ITS PATHETIC! I GET SO MAD THAT EVERYBODY TREATS ME LIKE GET OVER IT AND OFFERS LITTLE HELP. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ! MY DOCTOR PRESCRIPED A MED WITH BUTALBITAL/TYLENOL/CAFFEINE, WHAT A JOKE HE KEEPS SAYING DRINK MORE CAFFEINE AND HYDRATE....... DID IT , IN FACT IVE DONE EVERYTHING AND I AM SO COMPLETELY FED UP WITH THIS I REALLY WISH THEY WOULD FIGURE OUT SOMETHING THAT REALLY WORKED . I EVEN HAD HEADACHES WHEN I WOULD GET MY PERIOD EVERY MONTH AND HAD A DOCTOR TELL ME I WAS LYING; THERE IS NO SUCH THING. I LATER WENT ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT HOW COMMON IT WAS. I GOT RID OF THOSE HEADACHES BY CHANGING MY DIET AND EXCERCISE!!!!! THATS IT! I WAS SO HAPPY. BUT THATS NOT WORKING WITH THIS PREGNANCY IM NOT ALOUD TO EXCERCISE VERY MUCH WITH TWINS AND THE HIGH PROTIEN DIET IM ON DOES CONTRIBUTE TOO. IM SO SORRY TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE THESE HEADACHES.

To: Truely Frustrated: I know what you mean, these headaches suck. However, I spoke to a maternal Fetal Doctor re another writer who suggested Tylenolallergy/Sinus. This seems to work as long as it is not a migrain. My head hurts in the front and top and the sinus seems to be the most help. If you haven't tried it yet, I would. Usually I do the Excedrine route when I am not pregnant, but my OB gives me greif about caffine... But this seems to help me... Good Luck

It could be sinus problem and got severe headache the problem is cant take antibiotic (Augmentin or etc) but we can take steam daily two time after awaken and before sleep with hot water with mixing of vicks, and can take normal tablet like softin etc. Thanks to Allah my wife got relief.

Wow I thought I was just being a baby about the awlful headaches! I asked my doctor and he said it was very normal in pregnancies and that tylenol is safe!! My question is how much is to much I only take one at a time but some days I have to take two or three! Is it really safe if you have to take it almost everyday? I currently have a cold on top of it is tylenol cold safe too???? I am only 14 weeks and I have a long jounery ahead of me so I am just trying to find a little bit of comfort!!

Hi , I am 21 weeks now and I have been having bad headaches now for about a little over one month. As soon as I got pa__sed the vomiting throughout the day. My first two pregnancies were nothing like this one and they were both boys. This one we were told it looks like a girl on the ultrasound. I was perscribed tylonal with codine at my last Dr. visit for the headaches but have not asked for more since they are gone now. My husband got me some regular strength tylonal, but like you said it does not hardly take the edge off.

Linzy - November 14

Wow this has been awsome, Ive been struggling with morning sickness and a sinus headache for a week now and thought regular tylenol was the only thing (it didnt help) Im 8 weeks with my second and I didnt have these problems with my first.
