I really hope someone can help me, or has heard of what I'm dealing with... I went for my first v____al u/s when I was supposedly 5 weeks 5 days, and saw a sac, and baby which measured 2.99mm. Went two days later (so 6 weeks 1 day) and saw the sac but no baby. I'm not going back again for 10 days. I don't know what to think. Reading everyone else's experiences was re-a__suring that it was possibly just too early to see anything (and I have looong cycles, so I do not think I am as far along as they think, may be a whole week behind) but what worries me is that it was there and now isn't. I feel the same, sore b___sts, and no spotting or bleeding. I am so worried...

hello everyone my name is rayanne i went for a ultrasound today and they said im 6 weeks 2 days from the sac size but there was no baby in it its strange cause i know that you are supose to see a baby at that stage or at least a dot and there was nothing the lady said its normal but its not im so worrid i dont no what to do 3 years ago i had a baby 3 years ago a baby girl her name was cianna she past away due to a heart problem my little angel after her we got pregnant again and lost baby at 3 months babys heart stoped im so scared with this one the farther of the other to we arent together anymore he stressed me out i been with my new boyfriend for a year he is my best friend and im hoping this baby will be okay im so scared i dont know what to do

Hi i wanted your advice as i love your website. Its been very helpful. Heres my story. I tested positive (clear dark line) 1 month after i knew i had my period on that day. FYI ive had NO CRAMPS OR BLEEDING 1 April 2009 period Friday 1 May2009 3 positive tests wed 6 May 2009 went to hospital with Kidney pains(water infection and pregnancy confirmed) Friday 8th May 2009 Internal Scan- showed sac in my uterus and something on my Left Ovary. They are now querying Eptopic.Predicted 5 weeks.Took Bloods. 10644. Registrar did internal exam and said everything looked fine. No pain no cramps no bleeding. Sun 10th May 2009 Bloods were 12039- concerning not doubling! Still Eptopic Query Tue 12th May 2009 Bloods were 15006- called me in to have emergency surgery for eptiopic at partnering hospital. I still have no Pain cramps or bleeding so VERY fustrated. An internal Ultrasound by consultant confirmed no eptopic. baby is in uterus but no yolk sac or fetus so told to go home and have a scan in another week and gave me a "sorry you have miscarried" leaflet. Even though at the moment i clearly havent! I know my chances are low but they still dont know. Right? My progesterone was also 51. I called th other hospital back saying ive been discharged only for them to be unhappy about this and demanded i come in to have more blood tests as they think im eptopic due to rising hcg levels. This is starting to become very upsetting and distressing being told different information! They are making a distressful time totally tramatic. Thurs 14th May Bloods were 16156 so still rising! and my progesterone went up in 2 days to 69. So we still dont know where we are! Ive had enough so went to a completly differnet hospital and got a second opinion only to really confuse me more! They told me my bloods on Thursday were 14025 So i think my levels are going down but they say they wont drop that much in 2 hours so it must be differnt labs results. Friday 15th May Had internal ultrasound at 2nd opinion hospital and they see sac in uterus predict 6 weeks, no yolk sac no fetal pole etc. They dont want to say anything till they get my second set of labs, but ruled out Eptopic. And that is where i am right now. Totally confused and expecting a misscarraige but with my levels still rising i dont want to have a D&C. Still no pains, even after all the prodding about theyve been doing! No bleeding no cramps. Im just tired with sore b___bs, have nausea but god knows if thats due to stress as im now not sleeping! hello everyone. I am on my 4 pregancy i lost the first and have 2 great boys 4 and 2. I went to the Dr because i took a test it said i was pregnant. when I went to the DR the test came back negative. they did blood work and confirmed that i was pregnant. they did some more blood work and found my prestigone dropped slightly they put me on prestigrone. my hcg number contuinued to go up as did my prestigone. i then went for a sonogram and at about3-4 weeks all was okay at 5 weeks they did another sono and said it was twins. I am 6 weels they see the sacks in 4 days i went back the 1 sack went from 10 cm to 14 cm the other went from 6 to 7 they say that they do not see anything in the sack my DR said that it is a 50/50 chance it. i have to wait until Tues to go back. has anyone ever heard of this., I am so confused and lost. i know i have two great boys but to think you are having 2 babies to now think you might not have any. The u/s tech not ti give up hope on the bigger one. i do not want to give up hope. I have ready amny posts it seems like it is normal in some cases not to see anything in the sac for 7-8 weeks. is there still hope

My daughter went for an ultrasound yesterday at 6 weeks pregnant and they said she had an empty sac which was known as "Blighted Ovum" as well ... reading all these stories gives us hope ... We are going this Friday for a second opinion .. I would hate for her to expel the pregnancy when there still may be a baby there

I went to the dr Friday and had my first ultrasound. I should be around 5 1/2 weeks and we only saw the gestational sac and yolk sac. No fetal pole. My dr drew blood to test my hcg and I go back on Monday to find out the results and get some more blood drawn to see if the hcg has increased. Does any of this sound normal? As of right now, they are calling it an early pregnancy vs abormal and a follow up ultrasound is scheduled for the 28th.

So glad found this site, feeling pretty low after recent viginal scan show empty sac. I thought i was over 7wks from lmp but they advised measured 5.5 wks. they said the sac measured 14mm and my hcg level was 9000. Nurse said i would have re-scan 10 days later but to prepare myself! I recently miscarried at 11 wks in Nov which was heartbreaking, so excited to be pregnant again! reading some of your storys has given me some hope.

Hi ladies... I got pregnant via IUI somewhere between Feb 4 (when I was inseminated) and could have ovulated that date or + 5 days... On Feb 18th my pregnancy test showed positive, a very vague line, however positive. I am diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrom and have been taking metformine medicin (4 tabs 5oo mg) for years... My doctor told me to stop them immidiately, what I did on feb 25 eventhough I have heard that stopping the med so abrubtly could cause fetus growth stops or miscarriage... Anyhow, On Feb 26th, around the time when I supposedly would have gotten my period (my cycles are 32-34 days) i started bleeding fresh blood, not as much as period, however fresh... Called the fertility clinic and they ordered me to rest in bed. next morning I had quite much fresh blood, but still only like a light period. I have been taking some natural herbal tincture called 'fructus femina' (berberis vulgaris) that should help keeping a featus and not miscarry... I took extra dosis of these drops as this is said to prevent a misscarriage... the bleeding stopped... On Feb 28 I only had very very little spotting, dark blood. Went to the fertility clinic for a scan and NO sign of a pregnancy, no sac no thing. They took my HCG, it was 78. I came back two days later for a new scan, March 2nd and still nothing on the scan but HCg had doubled to 238... The doctor feared it was ectopic and send me to the hospital (March 4) They couldnt see anything on the scan either... I was sent home and warned that if I got any pains I should come back... no pains occured, not before that date and not now either... Anyway, March 6 HCG was 438, had a new scan, still an empty uterus... On March 8 HCG was 659, a new scan and still no development or sign of anything so I was sent to another department at the hospital where they have a better ultrsound equipment and much bigger camera they insert in the v____a.... Anyway, that scan showed some very small possible signs, however measuring only gest.sac 4 weeks ... On March 11 my HcG was 1290 and has hope something would be visible on the ultrasound (the normal one) but nope... On March 14 HcG was 2340 and only some tiny black dots could be seen on the ultrasound and the doctors said they wanted to do a D&C...... I just couldn't believe it... and begged for a new scan... I had that scan March 17, HcG was 3700... but nothing really showing on the ultrasound but 3 small black dots measuring 4 milimetres each... HMM... Will go for what the doctors call 'a final scan' and have HcG measured again tomorrow, this time the better ultrasound equipment again... What do you think this could be?? have you ever heard anything like this? Hopefully with a positive ending...

hi i'm new to this!! =0 Today i went for my 6 week ultrasound and they saw No sac or anything but i had 2 at home test positive and 1 at my doctors that was also positive. Is it just to early to see baby should i be worried?!

I wouldn't be alarmed. I had my first ultrasound at around 5 weeks and had a gest sac w/ yolk sac. Around 6 1/2 weeks I went to the hospital due to the flu and had another ultrasound which showed a baby, sac and heartrate at 131 bpm. I havent had an ultrasound since just the doppler on my tummy to hear the heartbeat at each appt. I was so scared after my first ultrasound since nothing was there. Honestly, it's too early and I'm sure everything is fine.

Hi I went in for my first doctors appointment when I was 8 weeks. And the doctor said all she could see was a fluid filled sak and bleeding at the top of my uterus. I went and had blood work done and she said all my levels are where they should be at. She suggested I do a DNC the next day but I didn't want to and I am 13 weeks and haven't been back since. I have had no miscarrying symtoms at all. I am not sure what to think. It was devastating when my husband and I got the news that I would be miscarrying, but it hasn't happened yet. Does anyone have any advice? Emily

Hello, I wanted to give you some hope. With my 2nd pregnancy I had the same thing happen to me. The doctor suggested I do the DNC I refused and said if Im not having miscarriage signs I will wait it out. So I did. I went to another doctor when I was about 10 weeks and all was fine. Please let me know how things turn out.

I had posted in here about 3.5 years ago now. After my post I had my second miscarriage, which was incredibly tragic. We decided to stop trying for a baby all together and heal emotionally. Anyway I got pregnant for the final time in Jan/2011. Yay I had a baby girl!!! She is now 7 months old and is in picture perfect health. Just stay positive girls and trust your instincts over what doctors tell you. I never had any complications with this past pregnancy but a friend of mine was pregnant with twins and started to miscarry one of them. The dumb doctor wanted to do a D&C thinking both babies died. Well she went back for a final ultrasound which she demanded and there was a baby with a little blinking heartbeat. He is now almost 5 years old and starting school in the fall. If she hadn't of declined the doctors orders that little boy wouldn't be here today.
