Early Dating Ultrasounds Wrong?

I tested positive on Feb. 14, 2016 and had my first vaginal ultrasound Feb. 19 which showed twins in two sacs(with two good heartbeats) both measuring 5wk6d. I was taking oral contraceptives for 9 years with no period and stopped 3 months prior to becoming pregnant, so my bleeding was scarce and irregular and I could not give a lmp. Before the ultrasound there was the question of paternity, as I had been with man A(white) pretty consistently before and after and even specifically in the conception window given (jan. 9 or 10), but I was with man B(black) in the first week of December and on Jan 21. I was told that man A was absolutely the father according to gestation. I had more ultrasounds at 8wk, 12 wk, 16 wk, etc., and all measured accordingly. Twins were born at 34wk5d weighing within an ounce of each other just under 5lbs. Forward 3 months later as the twins matured, it became very apparent the paternity claim was wrong as the twins are clearly of mixed race. My question is how could the ultrasounds have been so wrong and yet so consistent?
