Are Elective C Sections Available In Canada

Does anyone know if elective c-sections are available in Canada? Please advise. (Please don't post the pros and cons and experiences between c and va___al births...there is a very long informative thread under C-Sections just like this). I am simply asking if anyone has a yes or no answer tom y question.Thanks!!!

I don't live in Canada, but I have heard that yes, there are several dr.'s there who will do an elective section. Good luck, I'm searching also.

I live in Alberta and we can get elective c-sections here, so you should be able to get them in Toronto. Talk to a few different doctors and see what they say.

If anyone knows of a doctor who does them in Toronto, please let me know. I haven't really asked my OB yet, but he seems very old fashioned. I'm almost afraid to ask him. I just want to be prepared.

Why don't you make some calls to a few OBGYN's; if they don't do it they can point you to someone who will.

I live in canada and my doc says no way and sorry have to say why on earth would you want to?

I too am looking for an OB who will respect a maternal request for cesarean section. I was told by my GP that we are entitled to have an elective c-section but that individual OB's also have the right to decline if they are not compfortable doing one. I think they have too refer you to one who will.
