this is my first baby...i'm excited and nervious. i'm still on my parents insurance but only until august 4th. i don't know what to do about insurance. i'm 5 1/2 weeks along. when should i see a doctor and how do i get one?

See one before you loose your insurance. Why is it ending on the 4th? See if you can have it extended. Find out what the rules are for your parents insurance. Congrats and Good Luck!

i had the same prob when i got pregnant, since i wasnt in college anymore i was getting bumped off my moms insurence. i applied for welfare medical a__sistence. it is extremly important to get insurence before the one you have now runs out. also, see a doctor right away for your first visit.

If you really don't have money, you might want to try medi-cal.

call a local health clinic and make your first appointment also ask if they have any information on medical insurance you can apply for through them. most clinics will have applications for Medicaid which can cover you during your pregnancy and afterwards. try caliing before your parents insurance expires.

What state do you live in? Here in Oregon all pregnant women who do not have insurance get put on the ORegon Health Plan if they apply. It covers everything from the first doctors visit to two months after the delivery. Then you can reapply after that. Call information and see if they have a health plan for your state. Good luck.
