Pregnancy Discomforts

I have 2 children and I am pregnant with my third child. This pregnancy is totally different from the last two. One major problem is that my hip bones are killing me, I feel very stiff after sitting down at my desk which makes it difficult to walk at times. Another is that my va___al area feels like it has been bruised several times and causes pain but I haven't done anything to cause this feeling. Is this strange?

It sounds like SPD(Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction). I have been experiencing this pain since around my 12th week. It is definitely worse for me at night. I am afraid to roll over in bed, because I have been awakened by my hip "popping" back into place. Those constant trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night sometimes have me in tears. I know that trying to get out of bed is going to cause my hip to pop back into place. I have also expeienced the stiffness after sitting for long periods of time too. Some days I have just stayed home, because it is so difficult to walk. I was told these were just common pains a__sociated with pregnancy, but they can be intensified if you have ever had problems with your hips before. I was in a car accident in high school and have had hip problems ever since. I never a__sociated that accident and this pain until I came across this site. http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/pubicpain.htm#Introduction BTW The info contained on the site is not limited to plus sized women. You needn't have had a hip injury in the past to be effected by this. It seems to be well researched in Europe so most of the sites I have come across are UK sites. My doctor had never heard of it until I mentioned it to him. Here's another site, but a search on your own will get you tons of sites: http://www.ivillage.co.uk/pregnancyandbaby/pregnancy/complicatepreg/articles/0,,15_187741,00.html
