If you can't quit for your child that is really sad. Your child did not get to decide if they wanted to be exposed to cancer and other issues. Talk to a dr and do something!!

What the hell do you think she's doing? She is here asking for advice on what others have done before she takes action; it's called getting some back ground information anb being able to make an informed decision.

I'm not encouraging anyone to keep smoking. That said, here is my own experience. With my first pregnancy, I quit smoking 10 days after conception, before I even had a positive test. I did everything right, ate the right things, got plenty of rest...my baby was born a month early and had to be in NICU because of breathing problems. With my second pregnancy, I couldn't find the willpower to quit smoking. I cut back to two a day during the first trimester, but as the pregnancy progressed and my husband got b___hier and b___hier, my smoking increased to about 7 a day by the time the baby was born. This baby was full-term and had no problems. I don't know why I had more problems with the pregnancy when I didn't smoke. As far as the poster who knew two smokers whose babies died of SIDS, that's very sad, and also very unlikely...SIDS affects only 2500 babies in the entire US each year. For one person to have two friends lose their babies that way is a little like knowing two people who have been struck by lightning. I'm sure everyone who smokes while she's pregnant feels guilty about it-I know I did. No one needs to scare these ladies and lecture them.

PLEASE!!! - September 13

Can someone PLEASE start a new thread and let this one die??? I'm tired of getting six email notifications a day that relate to this thread.

How - September 13

do you get email notifications that relate to the threads on this site?

To How - September 13

When you reply to any thread, if you plug in your email address, you will automatically get notifications when anyone responds to the thread.

To Please - September 13

can you just not put in your email address or is it automatically in there from the beginning...seems like you should be able to delete your information somehow? I periodically check the threads to see whose responding but i do not get email notification each time someone responds....just curious how that happened....i know it's bothersome, i get about 50 spam's a day.....

It looks like you're just trying to find an excuse. Of course, it's NOT ok to smoke being pregnant. Smoking doesn’t only harm the baby during fetal development. It continues to affect the child as it grows outside the womb after birth, through various physical and mental problems (behavioral problems - attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), various learning disorders, becoming smokers at an early age, easily contracting colds, coughs, and middle-ear infections).

You could at least try to quit smoking or switch to vaporization, using nicotine free e-liquids (there are a lot of useful articles on VapingDaily).

I do hope you'll think of your baby's future one more time!
