Why Don T I Have My Period Yet

A little info first...I had a baby a year ago in March and I had to have a DNC 3 months after b/c I was bleeding still, then my gyno put me on the shot, and I was having problems with that. It has been about 2 months since I have been off the shot and I still haven't had a period yet. I have taken 2 pregnancy test and they both came out negative. My doctor said that I couldn't start my birth control pills until my period came, but haven't had it yet. I am just wondering why I haven't started my period yet...Is something wrong? Could I be pregnant?
