A Couple Infant And Toddler Questions

Hi, my fiances first daughter is 14 months and I was wondering when do you switch them to a toddler bed and out of the crib? She is climbing out and into her pack and play but we do not know about a crib since we only get her one night and he has her at his parents so she sleeps in the pack and play. We have a crib for her at our house but well thats a complicated story. Id assume she can climb in the crib too. I am just worried that she will get hurt trying to climb in and out. Also I was wondernig around what month do you start your baby on cereal. I thought it was close to five months but was unsure and am waiting till my daughter goes to the dr at her 4 month checkup she hasnt been since her 2 month shots. She is currently 3 months and 5 days I believe. Oh my other question was what is the youngest age ever recorded for a baby to "talk"? I could swear that my daughter says Hi lol. She only does if you do it to her. of course Im just a proud momma and its probably just a superb accidentle reflex lol

It is dangerous to keep her in a crib if she is climbing out. I would try to get a toddler bed with rails 14 months is old enough. She may not stay there always, because it will be easy for her to get up. Also she probably is mimicking the sounds you do to her is why it comes out like a word. This is how a baby learns to talk is by babling other sounds they hear.

Thanks so much. I will go and look into toddler beds right away. Im not sure if the crib that we have for her changes into a toddler bed or not, I will go and read the directions if I still have them.

I have knoen mother's to put their children in a bed right away why do the process again. You could always put only the matress on the floor so no need for a bed rail. Don't forget to put a plastic cover on the bed in case of leaks. Yes baby's can talk at any age. Smart cookie there. As for cereal I never gave cereal to my first until 6 months. My second was 5.5 months because my husband keep bugging me to give it to him but he was the one who didn't even feed him cereal either. I had the job. My friend knew of someone who b___stfeed for a straight year without any solids foods. So whatever you decide. LLL.org. b___stfrreding orginazation says six months due to digest problems before then. All the mothers I knew who feed before six months had kids who ate alot.

Thanks Lisa. I plan on asking her doctor to make sure and to see what he believes will be best for her. She is premie so I am guessing that what and when she goes to other beside milk it will be a bit diff then with a reg baby. Thanks again.
