I know this sounds weird but I have been having nightmares of people taking my son away. It all started when I stayed with my bf's parents for a weekend (my son was about a month or two), I slept in one room and my baby was in a spare bedroom (my bf was on the couch downstairs). Every morning I'd wake up, I'd go to the room to check on him and he'd be gone...my bf's mom had him (my bf was still sleeping too). It really made me mad that she did that. Now...this is my boyfriends mom, my boyfriend and I aren't married and I was only staying at his parents house because he'd come home from college on the weekends. I would have heard my baby if he was crying because the room was RIGHT next to the one I was in...I would have gone to get him to feed him BUT he was always gone. Ever since then, my son is now 8 months, I have nightmares...sometimes strangers...sometimes my bf's mom taking away my baby. AND ever since then, I am uncomfortable around his mom, even if she just loves her grandson BUT even if my baby and her are related, that doesn't mean she should be so easy around me...this is my first child so I am the normal cautious mom. PLEASE HELP ME...its gives me anxiety attacks when I have to go visit my bf's parents.

I also have to mention that I am the type of person who doesn't like people to help me. I grew up basically raising my brothers and sisters so it's not like I didn't know how to take care of a baby. My bf's mom wasn't helping me feed him in the mornings or anything, she would just take him and hold him even if he wasn't crying or even if he was sleeping. I visit my bf's mom enough too, so it wasn't like she wasn't seeing her grandson. Ok, I am going crazy...please help me, I hate these bad dreams.

Hey! I know exactly what you are going through (kinda) My mom dated this guy who ended up being a total psycho and went to prison for stealing checks out of my moms check book and writing them and then breaking in to my house and stealing my checks to pay my mom back ( I know hes crazy!) Well once he was there we found ou the had tried to kill one of his ex's. He just got the ok to be let out of prison and is just waiting on someone to say that he can come stay with them. I am so afraid that he will break in my house at night at hurt or take my baby. I make myself sick over it. I dont know what to do. My baby is in the nursery and me and my husband sleep in our room. I dont want to back track and have the baby sleep in our room until age 20 or something so I just dont know what to do.

Hey, before I had my baby my dad gave me these alarms (First Alert Alarm i think) they are just like those personal alarms with the LOUD alarm on it... all you do it stick one piece to the window (or door) and the other to the frame and when the 2 pieces are separated the alarm sounds.... I found this to be a cheap ($20-$30 for 4 i think --- check ebay---) and effective way to feel safe. Because if you think of it, the person that is breaking in has no idea that this alarm is not linked to the police, and it is definently loud enough to wake ppl next door. I hope that this helps (ps, these are also good to set up on cupboards or other areas you dont want your baby because it has a 'chime' setting that is not as loud but will notify you of when he/she is into something they shouldnt be...)
