My son was not feeling well lately so I decided to bring him to the pediatrician. Well I found out he's popping out some teeth, HES NOT EVEN 3 Months old. and she's commented before that he was developing quite fast as he learned to roll completely over and was doing it all across the room by 6 weeks old, he could scoot at 10 weeks and now is almost crawling:| he's done it a few times, but doesnt do it for very long. Anyways to the point she said that there is a study that actually proves that babies with younger mothers tend to develop not only physically but mentally faster. Sounded kinda far fetch to me but other younger moms ive talked to their kids are doing things faster, my mom was kind of young with me and she said i developed faster than my siblings, and others have commented to the same?? what to do you think? or is my son not really developing that fast.. I have to admit i havent heard of any other kids comming close to crawling at 3 months of ne one i know. but i could be wrong, wouldnt be the first time lol.

wow! your son was rolling across the room by 6 weeks! that's incredible!

Whoa..that's crazy cause I am 19 and it seems like my little girl is developing way faster than other babies...she is 6 weeks now and can almost stand up!! She stands up if I hold her belly, and I don't help her with my hand at all. We had a pediatrican appt today and I told the doc that her legs seem really strong for her age and he was like "well yeah they usually are by this age" and I was like "no seriously...sit her on your lap with her feet touching something and sit your hand on her belly.." so he did just to humor me and she stood up..the doc was lost for words..for a few minits he just sat there with her standing on his lap and looked at her in awe..till finally he said "...umm yeah...I guess her legs are a little strong for her age......" LOL

Also, she has been smiling out of love since she was 1.5 weeks old. NOT GAS. There is a huge difference, I can tell.

sheree - December 17

kristina- i believe tasia was smiling at 1.5 weeks, so was brandee and no it wasn't wind, this is my 3 baby so i know the difference, i had my first when i was 20 and was did things fasteter then my second daughter so there might be some truth in it, brandee is 6.5 wks and she only just started looking at me and she still sleeps heaps so she a bit slow but she'll get there, Also i think when u have ur first u have more time with them so u encourage them to do things faster cause u can't wait for them to do all those cute firsts things!!

I'm a young mom tooo and my son is doing things fast too i swear..he is 3m and yes he started rolling early , standing, crawling and now it's hard to eat infront of him coz he grabs food and if i don't give him he cries...i told my aunt this , she couldn't blve until she saw him doing all that herself..he started laughing "i mean laughing not smiling since he was two months" that was scary at first though..he is teethining too, he sits very well with a__sistance, and he could hold his head very well since he was born..my doc was amazed when he saw him doing this..i don't see him as a baby anymore coz of these stuff he does..seems like our babies are growing way fast..

I am an "old" mom- lol- but I think my older sister developed more quickly than me. We are 11 years apart in age. My mom was 25 when she has her and 36 when she had me.

Erica - December 17

Thanks for the response ladies, I thought it was a little weird when they told me that but now Im starting to see some truth to it all. How strange.

amanda.d - December 17

K I too am a younger mom (26) and my too girls who I had young did things way faster than my sons did/do. Also fyi my nephew was bornwith a tooth and my sister had him when she was 29.

CEM - December 17

I am an older mom (well, not old but more old than young if you follow! - I'm 32 now) and my kids were/are all late bloomers. So there could be some truth to this theory. Mind you, my mother was 28 when she had me and my father was about 40 years older and I was early for many things compared to my siblings and other kids. So, age may play a part but there could also be other unknown factors to take into consideration.

Heidi - December 17

So do you think these kids will want to start borrowing your car at age 10? Ha ha! That's cool! I wish my 10 wk old would roll over soon!

monica - December 17

CEM you make me feel really old.....I am 34 :)

newmom - December 17

I don't think it's bcoz of the age ladies..TO CEM AND MONICA: u don't have to feel old coz there's no age for motherhood..young moms are gonna be old too one day and still will me mom..beside some young moms are impatient and less tolerant than bit older.. :-) for me u r not old but well experienced..

CEM - December 17

Thank you newmom! I most certainly do not feel old! Quite the contrary actually. I just meant that I suppose one might consider me old in comparison to many of the younger moms who come here. I feel in many ways like my life is just beginning, and would never have wanted to have kids any earlier than I did. Age is just a number.

Erica - December 17

Yes I am young, 19 to be exact. But I dont consider any of you other mothers old either. I am young to be a mom, but also just young in general Id kill to be in the pos some of you older mothers(by that i just mean older than me) with a house, and a stable life in general. Im just starting college, but just wanted to drop a note and say Thanks to all who have been helping us younger less experienced ones:D
