Around 1 o'clock my BIL called to tell me not to drink the water in my town. He works in a town building and he was told that they found E coli in the water on MONDAY! Last night there was a water main break which could cause even more contamination. I am registered to get town notices online and all winter get parking ban notices but they waited TWO days to tell me that I might be poisoning my family? My little one had a big sippy cup of lemonade made with tap water this morning. E coli can kill babies, children, and people with bad immune systems. I only know about this because I knew someone in a town building. The rest of town won't find out until the 5 o'clock news! They will have been drinking, washing dishes, washing clothes with contaminated water unnecessarily for the past 48 hours. I know that diarrhea and vomiting is a symptom of poisoning. Anything else I should watch for? Thanks for listening to me vent.

I got a phone call from the board of health last night because I had called them and my mind was put at ease. It turns out that there are two water systems in town and mine was not contaminated. However, my BIL lives in the other area and it still p__ses me off that his family was put at risk because of the delayed public notice. My baby is fine. Thanks for the response Kerry

This is typical of any water system. That's why there is city water on our road, but we choose to use our well instead. (thank goodness we have a well). If we had any idea how often our water systems are contaminated... we all depend on a group of unknown people to take their jobs seriously. Sometimes it is a good choice to put a filter on the kitchen sink, and / or drink bottled water. If you can afford it, an ozone filter is great - it kills everything! I'm glad your baby is fine...

this reminds me of a boss i had at a bank i worked at. her town was under a boil order so she boiled water for EVERYTHING including her dogs. Then after about a week of this she realizes she had been taking empty ice cube trays and putting them straight under the tap. Silly woman !!!

Oh that wasnt too good baby.ksh49.com. Some bacteria dies when you freeze it but I don't know if it kills E coli. I don't think so. She was probably preserving it. :0)
