my mother had 4 children, her last my brother and a 10.9 baby.. HUGE. and she didn't tear for any of them. I did a bit with my 7.2 girl, but that is just because labor went so FAST and the tear was up front.

I don't think it can be avoided. You're either a stretchy person or not.

I had a 7lb 7oz boy and did not tear. My doc worked very closely with head and his lil shoulders. I did not come close to tearing. GOOD LUCK. I know there are lots that talk about all there tearing and I just feel for them it has got to be painful. HANG IT there youll be fine IT IS WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT IN THE END

I had an 8 lb, 1 oz. baby girl and I had to have an episiotomy. Her head was in the wrong direction and my dr. had to use the vacuum, too. So, I had the works, but it didn't take that long for the st_tches to heal. It does still hurt to have s_x, though. Even after 4 months! Well, I don't mean to scare you! Good luck and I hope you don't tear! =)

I tore big time but I had an epidurel and didn't feel a thing until it wore off. I think it just depends.

T, it's good to know I'm not the only one suffering! I'm 3 months pp and my st_tches healed really well, and I feel absolutely fine until I try to have s_x. It's too painful for me, and I'm frightened to even try it at the moment incase it hurts again. I hope it goes away eventually! It's so depressing. My husband never puts any pressure on me to have s_x, but he has been dropping a lot of hints lately. Makes me wish I'd had a c/sec! :(

Lol Lissi, my hubby's really good about that too. It's getting better gradually, but s_x isn't something I look forward to doing right now! Poor hubby!

Not to make you worry! I ended up having to have a c-section. I pushed for over 3 hours and no baby,so I had an emergency c-section! The 1st few days after a c-section is rough, very painful. Needless to say I had no tearing!
