Hi. Well I searched the internet for how to make strawberry puree for 6 month olds and couldent find anything because of the seeds. I kept coming up with " theres no getting rid of seeds" but they were wrong. layers and layers of cheese cloth work great. its a bit of hard work but it will be worth it. just thought I would let any moms that want to make there own food know what i learned.

Some of the c___p they have on the market for babies, well, I wouldn't feed it to my dog (I don't have a dog, lol)! Example - those hot dog looking things for babies? Meat sticks? Yuck. They add the word "juniors" and use cute packaging for people to think this is good stuff.

lol. Yep, I will be making my own baby food too.

Me too!! I won't cook for myself but I'll be cooking for my peanut. Hopefully she won't be picky like me.

Is it ok to give a six month old strawberries? I thought they were one of the ones you had to wait until they were a year old to give them.

My husband had Hepat_tis from wild strawberries, as a child. I too thought they were a no-no.

I thought there was some reason to not feed your baby strawberries, can't remember though what it was. There was a thing on TV about the packaged foods on sale. Research found that there was only 3% bananas in the Heinz banana custard jars. What a wrought.

I think it's because they're so many people allergic to them. I broke out in hives once and the doctor said it was from strawberries even though I'm not allergic them. Not sure how that works...

I loved making baby food for my daugher. My favorite was sweet potatoes, but bananas were her favorite. When you put the bananas in the blender, they end up with a pudding-like texture and they're sweet without adding anything. I started buying the little jars when I went back to work, because my husband wouldn't thaw the baby food I had in the freezer, but he would open a jar. Some of them aren't too bad. Yogurt is good for babies too.

Pediatricians usually tell you not to try strawberries until they are at least a year because of allegies. I didn't know and gave my son strawberries before I was supposed to. Oops. He didn't have any reaction.

they sell strawberrys for 6 month olds. and there r jars for 8 month olds. the only time i heard not to feed them to a baby yonger then 1 year was when there were seeds. I have 3 nieces and 2 nephews that had strawberrys out of the jar at 6 months and they r fine. also I cooked them first

pls don't give your baby strawberries until 18 mos or you will risk an allergy to it over time. i think that goes for any berry.

Our 3rd son is 8 months old. I gave him a strawberry and the next day he was covered with hives. Best to wait till their over 1 year old. :(

I really liked the gerber baby foods. Alot of their fruits are made from mostly apples, and i know that doesn't sound great, but for a first try, it was nice because they still had the taste of it, but if they were allergic there wasn't as much of the offending food to create a full-b__wn reaction.
