I just started the birth control patch (othro evra) since i got my period 3 days ago... well this period is super heavy. Yesterday, (graphic, i'm sorry), as I removed my tampon, it was soaked and covered with clots, and they were big clots. Today the clots have died down, but i am having to change my tampon every hour it seems, maybe two hours if i switch to a super absorbency tampon. Is there a connection between the birth control and this period?

But did you just have a baby? I don't know, perhaps you should consult your Dr. My Pill makes my periods alot lighter.

Hi Amanda, I'd check with my Dr. if I were you just to ease your mind. If there is no Dr. readily available, you can always go to your local clinic, where there usually is a nurse available as well, but your geonocologist will know more I think. I hope this helps.
