How Tall Is Your 8 Month Old

I measured Diesel the yesterday and he's 30 inches. That's probably not that tall, but looking at Rylee it seems HUGE! Rylee was 19 3/4 inches at 12 months. She's around 38 inches now at 3 1/2. So, since my daughter is so little, it's hard to tell if Diesel is taller than average, or average height. Can anyone fill me in on their 8 month old's height?

If you measured correctly, that is tall. Max was 27 inches at 8 months which placed him in the 75 percentile. I believe 30 inches would be off the chart! :)

Yeah, he's wearing 12-18 month pants and they fit him good. I put some updated pics of him on my myspace page if you want to see how tall he looks. myspace dot com/prissiemissie11

Wow, they are so cute! Have have a good looking little family! Looks like you're raising a future line backer there! LOL!

I just looked back at his records and he was 26 1/2 inches at 4 months. He was 21 inches when he was born.

lol thanks. it's funny that you say that because the guy at the pharmacy said Diesel sounds like a linebacker's name! lol.

hey, I just sent you a friend request =) Ava is 8 months old also, and I think she's about 28 inches which is pretty tall for her age and being a girl! she was also 21 when she was born =) I still remember you from the 3rd tri board when you told everyone that you were naming your son Diesel, I still love that name!

Yup, 30 inches is tall. At Eva's 8 month appointment she was 23lbs 11oz and 30.5 inches... both were off the chart.

My son turns 8 months this weekend and this week at the doc's office he was 31.5 inches (and 22lbs). Your son is probably taller than average, but not insanely large, kwim? Does everyone ask you when he turned 1? I get that a lot - or people question why he doesn't eat table food yet, why he still has his bottle and why he won't talk to them, blah, blah, blah... I'm 5"10 and my husband is 6"3 - (and my 11 year old is already about 5"6) I guess we didn't expect a little guy!!

I can't find my oldest's stats right now... also, mine didn't have 8 month check-ups... but at 9 months my dd was 27" and my younger ds was 29 3/4" (which on the paper says 90th%).

Thanks ladies... I guess i didn't expect to have a tall boy, as I'm only 5'1 and Chad is 5'8. My mom's brothers are all around 6 feet though. His weight gain has slowed quite a bit, I wonder if his height will too? Hmm....

AnytimeLittleone - April 19

Mellissa... I think his height will continue on a steady incline.. but like you said, his weight will kinda stabilize. Thats the same position Im in... she gained all of her weight in the first 7 months, and hasnt hardly gained anything since..

my 9month old is 30 inches, and in 95th percent

exactly anytimelittleone. Diesel has only gained a pound since his 6 month checkup. His carseat has a 30 pound weight limit, but a 32 inch height limit. I'm thinking he's going to reach that before he's a year old! I'm giving him Rylee's carseat though (it's one that be rear- facing, then it can be front facing also) and I'm buying Rylee a booster seat.

Mellissa, My son turned 1 last week and is about 30 inches right now. He's been in the 50 percentile for height and weight so it does seem like Diesel is a tall boy.
