Hello everyone. my 3.5 month old boy is gumming his hands, wrists, and arms so bad they are chafed!! They even bleed in spots. they look and feel rough and the whole top of his hands are chapped and sore. any remedies or suggestions would be so helpful!!

my 3 week old is doing this to his hands and wrists too but they arent chaffed bc i have him wearing gloves to keep from scratching.

Hey my 3 1/2 month does the same thing she doesn't have any chafing or anything I'm always stoping her and trying to get her to use her sucky but I thing she might be starting to teeth if I rub her gums she loves it .Other than that I have no idael what to do to stop them either .

The scratch mittens work great,I use them on my son all the time I dont want him to get all scratched up...

I didn't have any scratch mittens at the time I used socks instead. Try buying some teethgel or teething tablets from the health food store. I am sure if you keep the pain away from teething the chaffing will get better.

Lisa had a good suggestion, he is doing this because his mouth hurts and it feels good. Try cold teething rings and oral gel to numb his gums, ma__saging them with clean hands can help too. I gave my son popcicles, it helped.
