this isnt directly related to my baby but i wasnt quite sure where else to ask. anyhow...the bleeding u get after delivery ended after 4 weeks for me last week. me and my bf had s_x one night after it ended(before postnatal checkup and the doctors ok). i wasnt in pain, it didnt hurt, so we went ahead and continued, but today, a couple days after the s_x i noticed im bleeding bright red again. is this a sign that we had s_x too early? or could something be wrong?

You could have also started a period. I did this after my bleeding stopped. Vut for my bleeding was spotty or on and off then it was gone for a few days then a period then all gone. Still you should ask your docotor if your worried.

I bled for abt 5 weeks pp then a week later, it started up brigth red again. and it was also after s_x. i thought that my period had started up again although i wasn't expecting it cos i fed my baby b___st milk. at my 6 weeks pp checkup wih my doctor however, he did an ultrasound to check if my womb had returned to normal and he said it was not likely from the look of it that i started ovulating again. said the s_x probably dislodged some stale blood.. didn't know this is possible.. so, it may not be something wrong.. still, good to check with doc. oh, it seems that evrytime i have s_x, i spot(very little but no doubt) the next day.. is it normal?? or should i make an appt with the doctor?

I'm having the same problem but it has nothing to do with s_x I stopped bleeding 5 wks post part my baby is now 9 weeks old and I've had what seems like 2 different periods in the last 4 weeks I still haven't seen my dr since I've had the baby because he so booked up But I've been worried about the bleeding also I had an abnormal pap at the begining of my pregnancy but he wouldt do a biopsy because I was pregnant so I dont know if that has anything to do with it

My babe is 10 weeks old, and I've also had two different kinds of periods. Pap came back normal, I'm on the mini-pill, and ob says its normal. Takes a while for our bodies to get back into rhythm. Hope that helps...

Jill, I also had an abnormal pap at the beginning of pregnancy and when I went to my 6 wk they did another but I was never told my results or anything. Reading your post just reminded me of that. I better go and find out. thanks

Its quite common for the lochia to come back again if you overdo things in the first few weeks. Every time the bleeding began to slow for me, I went on a long walk or had a busy day or something - then Id have a day of bleeding again. Eventually this stopped happening - around 7 weeks postnatal. So this might be a possibility for you too.
