hi I was reading your other tread and i am also ard 6 wks pp. Can i ask what contraceptives you use?? I know this is a bit 'daring' of me to ask such a question. Cos i am still b/fding and i don't want to just rely on condoms. doc says no pills and no IUD..

Hi tsk! sorry its not toya. my doc gave me pills that are safe for b___stfeeding. some sort of minipill. i forgot the name but there is something out there!

Tsk, the options for b___stfeeding moms are usually the minipill which is a progesterone only birth control pill, the depo provera shot, or an IUD. My dr. actually said that it is okay to take combination hormonal contraceptives as well...It is only a theory that the estrogen in regular birth control pills will cause a shortage of milk...I was prescribed Nor-QD tablets which is a progesterone only pill. They come in this purple case. I will be using both the pills and the condom...I DO NOT want to get pregnant any time soon, so if I use both and still get pregnant then it is just fate. lol

lol!! thanks ladies! my doc did not mention a mini pill. And like toya, I really do not want to get pregnany again so soon....

I read that the chances of getting pregnant while on the minipill and b___stfeeding without supplementing is 1%-3%. I had a depo shot after my daughter was born. No one had ever told me it could make you bleed for months...I bled heavily for three months, sometimes so much that it was hard to leave the house. I would never recommend depo to anyone, even though I guess it doesn't do it to everyone.

This is me,
I had my baby on the 11th. things are doing not to bad though.. but she's getting bigger almost 11 pounds now. im not b___stfeeding anymore. I gave that up and i have her on nestle good start formula, and it seems too be working. For the first 4 weeks she was colic but then things got better. She is way better and more happier...
