Which Type Of Bottle

i am due soon, and i need to finish registering. I want to use the playtex ventair system and the playtex nurser system. They both have benefits and conveniences for different reasons....the nipples are a little bit different. Do you think it would be ok to use both types of bottles, or should i get my baby used to only one kind of bottle?

I don't know the answer to that question, but I wanted to let you know that my friend uses the Ventairs and says they are awesome! I know a lot of people complain about them leaking, but it is because they are not taking the time to put them together properly.

Personally, I wouldn't spend a lot of money on bottles until after the baby is born. Every baby is different and their preferences don't necessarily have to do with which bottle is "better" I tried the Ventair bottles on my little girl and she hated them. I also tried about 4 other types of bottles until she finally decided she liked Dr. Brown's bottles. Now I have a full cabinet of bottles she won't take. I was planning on using the Ventair's too, but if I would've bought 15 of them before she was born, I would have wasted a whole lot of money.

Hi, I also agree with Tracey. We had some of the vent air bottles and the playtex nursers. First of all the vent airs are hard to clean. I am not one for taking the time to rinse it out as soon as she is done eating (esp at 3 am) and by the morning it is very hard to clean. She didnt like the vent airs too much either, the nipples were too little, but she loves the playtex nurser system. She will only drink from the drop ins though not the bottle liners. Kinda weird I know, but thats my baby! The only other bottle she will take is the tri flo bottles. They arent my favorite, but when all else fails she takes them.

I use Avance bottles made by playtex they have the two way air vent she loves them and it's helped her to not be so gasy you do have to take care in putting back together after washing so the vent doesn't leak but it's easy I didn't think they were hard to clean I always rinse them out as soon as she's done eating so they clean up easy after then I boil the water and serilize them with the nipples and vents let them dry and put them back together. If I were you only buy a coulple of bottles in case your baby doesn't like them but I'd find one that works and stick with it.

Just dont get discouraged if the baby doesnt like either, There are alot of great bottles out there so if the baby doesnt like playtex bottles just try a different brand.

my baby was most comfortable with the playtex nurser system and so was i cuz the liners are disposable so less time spent cleaning bottles (i never rinsed them out either Amaya) Nipples are also something to think about. the naturalatch rubber ones by playtex are great. The silicone ones I found were sloppy and my babe loves the slow flow naturalatch nipples. goodluck and congrats!!

Hi again, see thats just it, every baby is different, because my baby wont latch on to anything but silicone. Nipples, pacifiers, anything. We had to go with the gerber pacifiers that were silicone and also the silicone nipples on bottles.

If the nipple drips too fast, or you have trouble with a gasket (like ventair or a sippy cup) leaking, boil the nipple or gasket for about 10 minutes, and it will close up some. Also, if your bottles or nipples start to smell like sour milk even after they've been cleaned, soak them overnight in vinegar. I personally preferred the ventair bottles, but my daughter wasn't particular and would drink from any and every bottle given to her.

Hey there, I use Dr. Brown's Natural Flow bottles and I love them. They are designed to reduce colic, spit-up, and burping. They are a bit more expensive but worth every penny cause they actually do work!

I tried a few different kinds for my little girl, Tommee Tippee ones act like a vaccuum and stop the milk flow, so I have to pull it out of her mouth every few minutes, NUK (German brand) is good as they have an air valve. Also Avent (English) are good. They all have different shapes and teats, but she doesn't care as long as the milk is flowing!

I use the Dr. Brown bottles as well! Although he doesn't like the nipple on them so I had to get the Nuk nipples and he takes to them. I think there awesome bottles, good luck!!!!!!!
