i am 38 weeks with my 3rd child, i show all the signs of approaching labor, except for the bloody show (mucus plug). does any one have any advice on speeding up the process? i have tried having s_x many times, but it's not working, i can't get past the smell of the castor oil so that isn't going to work either! thanks

Definitely do not use caster oil!!!! I am a nurse and when people do this it can start your labor because of the fluid shift. It will basically cause diarrhea and cause a fluid shift. So, labor may or may not start. If it does, i don't think you want the trials of labor and diarrhea together. i promise you one thing, the nurse and doctor down by your bottom don't want to be delivering a baby and come out brown!!

I used castor oil with my first born, took it before bed, I had the c___ps for a few hours and then boom she was born 10 hours start to finish, if you can tolerate diarrhea, go for it!

My wife is 38 wks and is experiencing a ridge abdomen with what she describes as a "pressure all around her uterus". She states that the pressure is consant. Is this a sign of labor, or something to be concered about? The baby has been moving normally.
