3cm Dilated 37 5 Weeks Ready For Baby

i am 3 cm dilated already, and have lost mucous plug. 2 days ago, i had mild contractions-that felt like period cramps.but only a twinge of contractions since then. has anyone been dilated this much, pre-labor?did it make your labor easier?shorter?how much longer...? i know baby works on her own clock...but, just trying to figure out if it will be tommorow, or closer to due date.(jan.7)i am scheduled to be induced on the 5th, and wouldnt mind at all if she waited till then. the element of surprise labor, freaks me out.thanks for any info.
