I went to the doctor a week and a half ago and she said that my cervix was very very thin. She said something about 90%. Since then I have been having menstral like cramps and my uterus gets very tight. It is painful sometimes but not every time. I will be 36 weeks on Sunday. My first child came 2 weeks early. Could I be having contractions?? When should I head to the hospital? I haven't had any bleeding. Thanks for any response.

I've been having menstrual type cramps for three weeks now! My doctor says they are preparing me for labor (braxton hicks) but I'm not sure how to tell when they are real. She told me it would feel more like a charlie horse in my uterus rather than cramping so thats what I keep waiting for. The 90% is probably how effaced you are. I was 50% last week so I'm going to try to get my membranes stripped this week. I'll be 38 weeks on Thurs. They say to go to the hospital when they are 5 minutes apart for at least an hour. Try walking and if they are real, that will make them worse. I feel your frustration though because I'm tired of the cramping and feel like something should be going on down there.
