Is it true that women uncontrolably poop when in labor? **how embarassing!** i hear you can have an enema when you get to the hospital - to prevent pooping on yourself (& the doctor). Is this a good idea? HELP!

Yes it is true but it doesnt always happen. I think its best to try to use the bathroom on your own rather than get an enema. No you cant control it, all you feel is something coming out and i couldnt tell which end it was (back or front) and it wasnt a lot but my doctor said it was common. that you cant control it. I did it with my first child and it was kinda embarra__sing but I'm just happy it didnt happen with my second child because there was more people in the room. Im hoping it doesnt happen with this baby though...

I had an enema, it only takes a quick second, and if you think you'd be embara__sed at having a bowel movement during labour. I would get it. I didn't need it tho in the end, because in the early stages of labour your bowels clean themselves out.
