How Much Longer Does Everybody Think

My wife is due on Dec 29th but she went to the doctors last wednesday and was 5cm dialted and 90%effaced. She has not had a single contraction and went to the doctor today and she said she was the same dialated and effaced.
Should I be walking behind her with a blanket waiting to catch a kid at this point?
