Lichen Simplex Chronicus During Labor

Hi all, I'm not sure if I'll get any responses on this post since most people (including my ob) don't know what LSC is. I have LSC of the vulva. It's a skin condition that puts you in an intense "itch, scratch, itch" cycle. It lasts for months and my skin begins to tear very easily from simple things like walking, sitting, squatting, using the bathroom, etc. I use cortizone cream and ice packs to keep the itching bearable...though it's still not bareable. I can't use my prescription meds because of pregnancy. My question is, does anyone know how this affects labor? I spoke to my doctor and she's just planning on letting me rip naturally, mainly because she doesn't know much about it (admittedly). It's more of a dermitalogical issue than an ob/gyn issue, it just happens to be on my vulva. Is there anyone out there that has gone through labor with LSC? What was your experience? I've googled LSC and labor and delivery but have been unable to find any answers. Please help if you can. Thanks.

I don't know anything about it. Maybe you should talk to your dermatologist and see if he has any information for you. He may be better suited to answer your questions?

anamariaflorencia - since you posted in 2008, I'm hoping that you went through labor and had your beautiful baby 2 years ago :) I'm due in 4 weeks and wondering about your exact same question. Did your LSC affect labor? since s_x is so painful, I'd a__sume something coming *out* the same way would also be... but i know that labor is not supposed to be painful. Please tell me how it went for you. if you have any insight for me i'd really appreciate it. i hope you read my post T.T
