I'm 40 weeks and I'm 1cm dialated the baby is well and truely locked in position and I have had contractions everyday for a week If I get induced will they need to use the gel if I'm already dialated or will they just break my waters. I've tryed raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, walking, s_x, nipple stimulation, I've had the stripping of the membranes has anyone got any unusual suggestions on how to start labour.

I FIND AN EXTREMELY HOT CURRY DOES THE TRICK, BECAUSE I ATE ONE AND THEN LATER ON HAD s_x. TWO HOURS LATER I WAS IN LABOUR, SO ALL I CAN SAY IS GIVE IT A TRY. HOPE IT HELPS

I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. I cleaned like crazy today including cleaning the kitchen floor on my hands and knees. Not sure if it did anything but I feel kind of sick now. Not sure if that means anything. My sister in law swears that s_x worked for her twice but I haven't tried that yet.

I've heard that Caster Oil can be effective.

Kara - April 28

Where did you hear that caster oil can kill your baby? I have heard of many people using it without a problem. I doubt that they would use it if it posed any real risk.

help - April 28

castor oil can cause the baby to do a bowel movement in you and it can get inside them and kill them any dr will tell you that

Jill - April 29

Actually castor oil hasn't been proven to cause the baby to have a bowel movement, Most women who use castor oil are overdue and when your overdue you baby has a higher chance of pooping do some more research guys

i have:) - April 30

i have done my research and yes it can make the baby do a bowel movement in you why dont you look it up everyone i know knows this THE BABY WILL COME WHEN ITS READY

i even mowed the lawn today, gardened, kicked a footy down the park for an hour, ate a hot curry, and drank rasberry tea all day but nothing's working! jane, why did you bother to write anything if you have to be so rude - maybe you should take a chill pill - i feel sorry for your poor baby to be

I too have tried every thing that has been suggested. I'm 40 weeks and 3 days, I'm having a little boy and he keeps pushing his bum and legs so far into my ribs I can't touch my stomach it hurts that much! Can anyone suggest anything to help me keep him lower down, if he's not going to come out?

I am 40 weeks & 3 days too & am getting very fed up waiting to see when its going to arrive. I went to see my midwife on Wed & she said I was 1cm dilated. Ive ad the membrane sweep & tried the s_x but nothing is working. Does anyone know anything else that can help?

Toya - May 7

I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow...I am 3cm dilated and 20% effaced...S_x actually brought on some serious contractions the other night! They were 7 minutes apart and lasted for 3 hours. I have another appointment on Monday...I believe that I am more effaced now...just judging by those contractions I had the other night...so the s____n really does do something..
