I used it about a week and a half before my due date and nothing. They say it helps to strengthen the cervix? My doctor said the only proven method was intercourse, which was not an option for me since I was single! Walking, oh yes and nipple stimulation, which again I could not bring myself to do. i am 37+3 pregnant and i went into early labor the day i turned 37 weeks the doc wanted to induce me so he made me sleep ova the hospital to monitor me i contracted all night but the next morning he said because i didnt dialate anymore he didnt want to induce me i started at 1 1/2 cm and stood at that i want to go into labor already i am having some contractions but not bad ones can anyone help? has this happened to anyone?

hi its me again i am 37 +4 i am 70% effaced and 11/2 cm the doctor confirmed i was in early labor at 37 weeks but the contractions seemed to stop does this mean i am not in early labor anymore? someone please respond.

i started drinking it about a week ago 3 timea a day and since then ive had a show and water leakingbut my midwife said its not my waters but i feel like theres less fluid in me and she couldnt reach my cervix to see if im dialted

The tea doesn't actually induce labor, but it does make labor easier. My second daughter I took it for a few weeks before and she was out after only a few hours of labor. No tearing or cutting. It was heavenly. I've been taking it since about 32 weeks and at my 37th week I was dialated to a 21/2 and 60% effaced. So I'm hoping it works again!!!

I read in an article that rasberry leaf tea will help to induse labour i am 38 weeks first baby, and i am going to start drinking it tomorrow. if it works fine, if not oh well, itll make me feel like i am pushing things alsong either way......Hey, i might mix castor oil up in the tea, and have s_x while i drink it just to say i tried it all because i am MISERABLE AND SICK OF THE PAIN

about the pineapple. I read that it contains TRACE elements of the stuff you need to induce labour so you'd have to eat 7 FRESH, not canned, Pineapples to actually make it work. Hubby and I are going on a little scavenger hunt tommorow---7 fresh pineapples are on the list, Red Rasperry Leaf Tea, castor oil...and we'll see what else we can find. Wish us luck. I'll post our findings.

hi there fatties....over due pain in the a**e....i was four days over due....very uncomfy.... i tried it all...tea...s_x...hot bath...preasure points....pineapple.....hot water bottle on my b___bs....castor oil...curry.....anythin and everythin......everythin was coming out me but my son...err, then i was told to eat a bag of apples...mmm yummy apples...great!...so about 5pm i went to the shop for a bag of apples, come home and started eating them one after another whilst steping up then down the bottom step of my stairs...went bed as normall...guess what 4am i woke up in labour...yerr......i had my son that evening x good luck x

Yes s_x does help induce labor, it has a certain chemical in the sperm. Something like oxytocin is used to help induce labor when you have s_x.

i drank raspberry leaf tea for the last month of my pregnancy as i heard it made the 2nd stage of labour easier. boy was i wrong! i was in labour around 50 hours, and ended up with a forceps delivery :( Nic x
