Raspberry leaf tea seemed to work well for my first pregnancy. I drank at least 3 cups per day for about 3 weeks. Baby came 2 days early. The labor went well and my body did it's work- I pushed for 7 minutes and the doctor was extremely surprised how quickly it went. (I was even asked if I was constipated a lot!) From the research I've done it sounds like the raspberry tea tones the uterus and cervix and in general strengthens it, making labor/delivery easier. One thing not mentioned here though is my doctor reccommended I drink it HOT, as hot as I could stand it. Not sure why but middle of summer I did! Just started drinking it again with my second pregnancy about a week ago, am 39 weeks. Lots of Braxton Hicks contractions, I'm sure my body will do it's job when the time is right and the tea has so many health benefits. Please make sure you get REAL raspberry leaf tea. Even Raspberry Zinger by Celestial Seasonings has very little actual raspberry leaf in it. I buy mine (organic) from the local health food store. Good luck ladies, and remember, those babies can't stay in there forever! =) God Bless.

Red raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic used by Native Americans for thousands of years. It tones your uterus by helping to "focus" your Braxton Hicks contractions. It helps your uterus do more effective exercising while you are pregnant, if you will. It does not "cause" contractions and can be safely used throughout pregnancy.
