Checking To See How Far Dilated

is there anyone who knows if you can check to see how far dilated you are without having to go to the doctor

I would not try this...I'm sure you could but you would not know what you are looking for...leave the medicine to the doctor...you increase your chances of infection if you stick anything up you, and you could possibly do damage to something at the same time...

With my first pregnancy my husband checked to see how far dilated I was until I was 3cm. Most men probably would not have done this, but he asked the Dr. at a previous visit, if it was ok, and the Dr. said that it was fine and showed him how to do it, and what 3 cm looked like. I wouldn't do it on your own, but talk to your Dr, and see if your partner can help. Good luck.
