Im 27 weeks pregnant today and I am soooo scared about the labor process. I've been looking on all kinds of website to see how much and epidural hurt and I'm quite freaked, Please somebody tell me if it hurts

I've had three. I did the first one without an epidural. OMG. Talk about pain. The second time, I decided to try the epidural, to compare. To tell you which is better...the third time, I went with the epidural! The thing is, by the time I got the shot for the epidural, I didn't even feel it compared to the intensity of the contractions. Oh, and the main pain from my first (non epidural birth) wasn't even the contractions but the baby coming out and the fact that I needed st_tches afterwards. The epidural took all that pain away and I was really able to enjoy the second and third births and relax so much more. I recommend it. Don't be scared, it's going to be okay. I recommend you do try to go through at least some of the contractions before you get the epidural, especially if this is your first birth, because it may take a long time, and you don't want to be stationary for 36 hrs straight. Again, the epidural pain is nothing to worry about. Your body will have totally different priorities by the time it happens, and it will enable you to focus on your baby entering the world without being distracted by pain.

I had an epidural for my first birth and I am probably not going to get one for my second birth. I had a lot of back problems after my epidural. Im nervous to not get an epidural when I give birth in October because I really didnt feel contraction pains for my first child.
