if you have an epidural does it mean that you must remain lying down all through the labor? can you mave around just a little? ie stand, squat?

Aliya, ask your doctor about a walking epidural.

no - you wont be able / allowed to stand or squat once the epidural is started. You will still be able to feel, but for safety reasons you can see why they wouldn't let you stand. The effects wont last much past the delivery and you can get up and walk to the bathroom in most cases fairly quickly after the birth.
