I went to the doctor today and she was unable to locate the heartbeat with a doppler. She told me not to be to concerned sometimes it just takes long, the dates could be wrong. Since I have no other symptoms and my HG levels are good, she advised me to come back in two weeks. I am really nervous. My first child we heard the heartbeat at 7 weeks.

You'd be lucky to hear the heartbeat with a Doppler at this early stage. And I mean LUCKY. I didn't get to hear mine clearly with the Doppler until well into Week 14. If you are worried, ask to have an ultrasound done. That will pick up the heartbeat.

I had my second apt. today. I'm 11 weeks, and still no heartbeat. Everyone tells me not to worry, but a part of me will worry untill I hear it. I lost my pregancy before this one at 4 weeks, but I didnt know untill 6 weeks along. Positive thinking is really all that can be done. There is nothing anyone can do if something was wrong, and theres no reason to worry myself all day over something I have no control over. It is reasuring to know that im not the only one who hasnt heard a heartbeat this early. Just seems that with my first, I was able to hear the hearbeat early.

i know its hard not to worry, but if your levels are good thats rea__suring, ask for an ultrasound if that would ease your mind.
