Am I Still Pregnant After Bleeding

During my 6th week of pregnancy, I started to bleed & spot for about 3 days. The advice nurse told me since the bleeding wasn't heavy (to soak up a pad) and were no cramping or pains, I was probably okay. My pregnancy symptoms don't seem to bother me as much. After a few days, I took another home pregnancy which was still positive. But I've read, after a miscarriage, the test may still show positive for a while.
With my medical care program, I cannot make my first check-up appointment until I'm 10 weeks pregnant! Maybe I'm just worrying too much, but is there another way to tell if I'm even still pregnant or not? I'm a little confused. We're hesitant to share our news with our family & friends until we have an idea. Any similar experiences?

I am in the exact same situation (bleeding, spotting for the past 4 days, 6 weeks and 2 days). They did an ultrasound today and saw the baby and its heartbeat. They saw where I was bleeding from but told me not to worry since the baby seems to be ok. It would be better if you could get a scan done just to rea__sure yourself but if not, don't worry too much. Unless you're bleeding heavily, which you would know, you're most probably ok. Best of luck!!
