I get so stuffed up at night that I find it hard to breathe and get no sleep. I'm 9 weeks. Does anyone else have this problem?? I don't have allergies or a cold either!

Hi BB, I totally remeber this happening to me when I was around your stage. It was alomost like my nasal pa__sages were swollen shut but there was no cold or allergies. It was very annoying. I am now 38 weeks and it went away after a few weeks. Just hang in there!

Thank you Beth. I feel better knowing someone has had a similar experience. Since this is my first I seem to be paranoid about everything!

Hi BB, I'm 24 weeks and have just started experiencing the same thing! My nose starts to get 'blocked' in the evenings, but I can still breathe enough to sleep. But in the early morning, it gets so blocked that I have to breathe through my mouth! I read in a pregnancy magazine that the soft tissues of the nose and sinuses swell up in pregnancy, while extra fluid in the body means increased mucous production, leaving a pregnant woman with a 'stuffy' nose! The mag also said not to b__w your nose too hard as preg women can be more prone to nose bleeds - i've experienced this too! Hope I've helped you, and don't worry too much, our bodies are doing the normal things that they should! Good luck!!!
