you must tell your midwife straight away. on one occasion i had a blood test done and was told i was immune so my baby was fine and only yesterday i had contact with chicken pox and the midwife asked if id had them before, i told her yes so she said id be fine only im not convinced as my daughter has had them 3 times when you should only get them once according to the dr. i think i had the blood test done because i was due and my baby could have been born with them so they had to know but this time im only 6 months so you best tell her quick x

I had chicken pox when I was 8 weeks pregnant. My dr told me that in early pregnancy the greatest risk is miscarriage, as your body will expel the baby if any severe abnormalities occur. If your pregnancy continues as normal, it is less likely that any deformities will occur, however you will be monitored more closely just in case. My daughter is now 2.5 years old, and is perfectly healthy, so try not to worry!
