I am 36 1/2 weeks preg and I am having severe pain on my right side just under my br___t. Its been happening for weeks, but has intensified in the last few weeks. I also had pre-eclampsia with my last pregnancy and did not know if that could have anything to do with it. I can't sleep...or even move at time, every position hurts. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

I have the same pain, it is awful. I am 18 weeks pregnant. The pain started about a week and a half ago. It seems to get worse at night. Sometimes it feels like a burning pain and sometimes it feels like muscles being stretched and pulled. It is very difficult to get up from lying down. Have you heard anything? Found any relief? I had xrays down, because my doctor thought I had pnemonia, but they should nothing. He says I just pulled muscles. I been resting a lot, but it gets worse and worse.

I had the same pain you are both describing. Pretty much put in me tears... didn't find out until the day after my daughter was born that my gallbladder was very infected and had to be removed via major surgery to get all the infection. Please have your doctor do an ultrasound for gallbladder pain and don't let up until the doctor does. May save you some agony for the rest of pregnancy. Good Luck and pray that pain goes away for both of you

I am at the end of my third pregnancy and I have had the pain you are describing with each. I had pre-eclampsia with my first pregnancy and it is a symtom but I have had the same pain with my last two pregnancies and no pre-eclampsia. It starts with me around the middle of pregnancy and lasts until I deliver. I have heard alot of women complain of this. I think it is from your organs being pressed up into you chest, whatever the cause I think it is a normal yet bothersome side effect of pregnancy.

I think by how many of us there are complaining about this pain it seems pretty commom, but never the less still pretty painfull. I am 33 wks and 3 days and have been taking paracetamol, when severe. I have read up in books and found that the pain is usually felt on the right side and is more than likely due to excessive movement by the baby, which causes tenderness and bruising, apparently eases when baby engages ? soon to find out i suppose. Good luck everyone.
