Blot Clots And Pregnancy

Has anyone else out there had to give them self shots of lovenox to prevent blot clots during pregnancy? I got a blood clot when I was six months along. The doctors caught it and everything was fine, but I had to give myself shots of lovenox and later heparin twice a day. I seemed to bruise with every shot. By the end of the pregnancy both legs were one big black and blue mark and they really hurt. My doctor told me I would have to give myself the shots the entire pregnancy if I get pregnant again. I really would like to have another child, but am very hesitant because of the shots. Has any one out there had to do this too? And how bad was it?

I suffered two miscarriages this year. The 1st @ 11 weeks and the other @ 6 weeks. Needless to say they were devastating. If I hadn't miscarried at all my baby would have been born around August 15th. I was tested and showed positive for antiphospholipids etc., and started the baby aspirin immediately upon finding out. I am now 9.5 weeks pregnant and started heparin shots in my 4th week. Two weeks ago I developed an allergic reaction (hives, rash, itching) on all the injection sites and was subsequently switched to Clexane/Lovenox. It's amazing what we put ourselves through for the sake of being parents. I still get a rash from this, but not as bad as before. I must say, that although I'm on these meds, every twinge I feel in my abdomen sends me scampering to the bathroom to make sure I'm not spotting. The hardest part is that with these blood clotting disorders you're never out of the woods until you've delivered, and your pregnancy is deemed as high-risk. It is quite difficult (mentally) sometimes.
