Hi Tami, Glad to hear Shelly's surgery went well. Hopefully she will heal nicely. When you had a gallbladder attack while throwing up did you ever loose bladder control. This is the problem I'm having. Boy, I used to think sneezing was bad. Which is worse to clean up. Please tell me my bladder will go back to normal after I give birth. The pain can be so unreal at times. Finally made it to the third trimester so I guess not too far to go now. Let me know how you are making out/

yes. i am 28 weeks and had an attack last monday, i have been in hospital since then and just got home, looks like they are considering taking these out. I am looking for a diet to follow. im 24 years old, the pain was so bad apparently worse than child birth. so at least i kinda know what to expect now. but its pretty serious and quite common too. So dont worry to much. Body can cope with out the gall bladder. but they are looking at taking it out after the birth. Thats if it doest get too bad.

Hi Michia, Sorry to hear you are suffering with gallstones... they are horrible!!! The only foods that don't hurt for me are Special K cereal, All Bran bars and tea biscuits. You have to be so careful on the days you are feeling good. There have been several times I have been brave and tried something new and then paid for it later.

Hi ladies,as all of you know I finally had my surgery last tuesday. The surgery itself went great, I was nervous for nothing.Eventhough they did the laparoscopic surgery recovery is still hard. The worst is that I am not allowed to lift anything for 2 weeks and that includes my baby. That has been very hard. And then due to all the pain meds (before and after) and the pain I have not been able to pump,I was really too sore and my milk supply has basically gone to nothing. It really sucks because I really wanted to b___stfeed longer. Not wanting to really sound bitter, but that stupid gallbladder has caused me a lot of distress. It really bothered me during pregnancy,it was painfull and I had to watch so carefull what i ate, stress will trigger an attack too,it did when I got induced, ended up with the c-section which took longer to take that darn thing out of me,I thought it would not be so painfull after I had my baby, but that wasn't the case,I actually had an attack that lasted i week, and now my milksupply is gone and I can't hold my baby.Seriously,if I would have known all this I would have taken it out in my second trimester.Ladies,I really feel for you,I know how bad those attacks are.If there is anything I can help you with let me know.I will check in regularly!!!!

I am 36 weeks pregnant and my doctor prescribed to me Lortab for back pain.Is this prescription cauing any harm to my unborn child? and if so what.

Shelly to Stephanie - November 29

I am 'hopping" in real quick b/c Jesse is hungry.Lortabs are perfectly safe during pregnancy.I had them since I was 16 weeks pregnant and went full-term.The last weeks I had to have percocets (stronger).Jesse is perfectly healthy,so don't worry!!!

Just curious on how you ladies are doing?

Shelly - December 12

I think I am going to "bump" this one up. Is everybody doing OK? I am STILL recovering from that friggin surgery.Having had the c-section is slowing my "healing" process.I guess having 2 mayor abdominal surgeries in 3 months was a little bit too much. But I will quit whining about it,at least it is out.Amanda, how are you doing?

Louisa - December 13

Hi Shelly, SOrry to hear your having a rough time. Hopefully you will heal very soon. My gallbladder is still acting up, very painful attack this weekend. Hang in there!!

Shelly - December 13

Louisa, sorry about your attack last weekend.Have you ever tried taking a hot shower while having an attack? That always helped me.How far along are you now? And what kind of medicines are you taking? I really hope you don't get as many attacks as I did.How are you doing with eating? What type of foods have you tried? I could give you a few tips of what I ate,if you want.

Shelly - December 18

I like to keep this one around so....bump

Hi Shelly, my attacks are usually every two to three days however the pain varies. Just got out of hospital today from bleeding. I'm 31 weeks pregnant. I hope the next 9 weeks fly by. Everything is great with the baby, he weighs 3 lbs 12 ounces and is sixteen inches long. How are you feeling?

Hi Louisa,I really hope you are doing better.I am doing a little better,it seems that the depo shot I got has abdominal pain as a side effect,so that could contribute to all my aches and pains.Just in case, have a merry christmas!!!

Louisa - December 22

Hi Shelly Great to her your doing better. I tried your advice about a hot shower with my most recent gallbladder attack.. it really did make a difference. THanks!!! I guess it makes sense, with my first child I spent a lot of time in the shower during labour. This time I hope to do the same however I just watched two shows on giving birth.. YIKES I forgot all the pain involed. At this point I just want to hold this baby so badly. Don't you love the way newborns smell. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with you precious new gift. Baby's first Christmas is a very special time.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and just found out yesterday that I have a gallstone too large to pa__s (2 cm). I just came home last night from a 3 day stay at the hospital Pre-term labor set in on Friday (12/16). I've been in so much pain for weeks now and have to take a contraction inhibitor that makes my heart race. The Doctor offers me pain killers, but I'm afraid to put that in my system for the baby's sake. Anyway, My doctor was treating me for preterm labor and I had to insist that they take more aggtressive measures to find out what this other pain was. I thought at first that the pain was coming from my right kidney mostly. They did an ultra sound day before yesterday... Then, the next day, I was awakened to have a gall bladder ultra sound. Once it was clear that I had a gallstone, my doctor made light of it and was very qwick to talk about me going home. No talk about refering me to a gastroenterologist or wake the options were. Because he's an OB, that's all he'll discuss with me. I can either take the pain killers or wait this contraction ridden pre-term labor out in agony. I am to return to the hospital when my water breaks or I have more that 5 contractions per hour. So far its been no more than four per hour (because I'm on the Terbutaline). Should I be trying to persue this now, while I'm trying to stay off my baby's premature birth? I'm on bed rest until she's born. I doubt a new gastroenterologist would just talk to me on the phone. I'm scared, alone and feeling like I'm in a strange kind of motherhood purgatory. Thanks for hearing me, Rachel
