Hello everyone... Well I have a very healthy baby boy! He was born last Thursday, the 26th after only 3 hours and 52 min. of labor! (thank God!) It was a wonderful experience, I got to the hospital at 7:30am, the time my induction was set for, at 8:15 my doctor broke my water and at 12:04 I was a mommy! The doctor had to sprint to my room, and didn't even get her gown and gloves on all the way, the nurses almost delivered him! 7lbs. 6oz, 19 1/2" long. They kept telling me that he might end up in the NICU because of the way his amnio looked a week and a half before I was induced, but he came out screaming, proving them all wrong! I ended up losing 37lbs during my pregnancy from the NO fat diet that they had me on, and since my baby (Logan) was born I have lost another 22 lbs. ( I was very overweight to begin with) I have been attack free for a little over 2 weeks. I went to see my surgeon and he wants me to wait at least 4 weeks to have my gallbladder out, so that it can for sure be done lap. He told me that he expected the attacks to slow down after the baby was born, but then again I haven't ate anything to give it a chance to flair up! To look at things on the bright side, I almost have all the weight off I always wanted. Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be praying for everyone, I wouldn't wish an attack on my worst enemy!

Hi to everyone,
I went and saw my OB again and had a consultation with another surgeon to have my gallbladder removed. The doctors decided on removing the gallbladder 1 week after my c-section. I have also learned that it is very dangerous to have babies that are close in age. My daughter is 10 months old and I am pregnant with my son. He is craddled in my hips and making it very difficult to walk. This pregnancy I crave all the foods that set off gallbladder attacks. This is very frustrating because I don't feel that my hunger is satisfied with what I have been eating. I am sticking with the fat free diet because I do not want to have anymore gallbladder problems. I hope that everyone has great pregnancies and that all turns out for the best.

Hi Everyone!
Glad to hear you had a healthy baby boy Amber. :) Thats great news! Congratulations. Must be such a relief to be through with the pregnancy now and just to concentrate on the healing process and then getting your gallbladder out. I have only gained 5 lbs with this pregnancy so far because of what I am eating too. Before I had my attack, I was up 6 lbs and since then I have lost 1 lb. I have about 12-1/2 weeks to go so we'll see where I end up at. I am looking forwad to eating "good food" again. I also crave foods I can't eat like Karen does. Karen, can you please keep me updated on your surgeries? How soon will you deliver? I am in the exact same boat as you, but I think they want to wait longer with me before they take out my gallbladder. GOOD LUCK! I'll be praying for everyone.

Hello ladies! Hope everything is going well with you all. Alexia is doing fine. Although Dad was shipped overseas for 4 months, she has begun to adjust. I still have the 13 month old on the bottle. I can't take it from her because her Dad is gone and we had to temporarily move out of our house for 4 months. That would be just another loss to her. I'm working on weaning her and getting her to sleep overnight again. I'm afraid this will happen all over again when we move back home in May. Oh well. School is going great. 15 hours but I love all my cla__ses. Keeps my mind off the situation. I would like to see bumper stickers that say "Support our Military Spouses!" Maybe with baby blue ribbons or something. lol Thanks a lot. Hello Tami and Shelly!

hello ladies, I hope everyone is doing great. Congratulations on your healthy baby boy Amber and on such a short delivery. My daughter is now almost 3 months and she is a joy. I have found though that I am now having more of the gallbladder removal symptons now that my body is getting back to normal. I had mine out at 5 months preg. in June. My stomach always seems to be upset. I guess I'll just have to get used to it all. Tami and Shelly I hope the babies are doing great. Later

I am still not "OK" from my surgery.Mt abdominal area still sweels up and I have almost every day an upset stomach. I am also really watching what I eat! It sucks, I really thought every thing woulkd go back to normal once that darn gallbladder was out! Let me know, ....I like to compare b/c I was not sure if it's from the gallbladder removal or the c-section or both......grrr,i'd like to feel good again!!!

Hello ladies. Shelly, my stomach was always swelling up also but I had not a__sociated it with my gallbladder removal until you mentioned something. But yes I have had the same symptons, I am usually swelled and my stomach feels like its churning and often after a real heavy meal I get diahrrea. I knew for sure diahrrea was linked to having no gallbladder but not the other symptons. I know how you feel, I have so much going right now with my help I just want to be better. Today is my Leep procedure for my abnormal cells and I hope everything goes well and I have no problems recovering. Shelly, just let me know if they compare. My mom also had her's removed and she says she has no further symptons that after a while her body adjusting. Here's hoping...

Me again... Just wanted to let everyone know, I know longer have a gallbladder!!! Wahoo!!! On the 5th at like 10:00pm I started having a very severe attack after eating NOTHING that should have triggerd it... So me and my husband packed up the baby and went to ER... After a two hour wait they told me that one of the surgeons that I had seen in the past (the one I liked the best and the one I wanted to do the surgery) was on call the next day. they told me not to eat or drink anything till I had called my surgeon. So i went home, my attack stopped and 2 hours later started having another one so i went back to the ER and the surgeon came in and told me it was coming out that day. Thank god i have a wonderful mother and father they kept my baby while I was in the hospital. The doctor told me my gallbladder was in VERY bad shape and needed to be out a long time ago. I'm pretty sore but glad it's all over with. Well I better go my baby is hungry! thanks for all the support!

Amber,I am so happy for you!!! At least the worst is over!!! How is your little guy doing? Anna, I really think that the biggest part of my stomach swelling up has to do with not having that darn gallbladder! I also think it feels "weird" b/c of the c-section, my theorie : inside it's b/c my intestines and stuff are still adjusting, there is that direct connection now b/c of not having the gallbladder, then b/c of the swelling my muscles and part of the skin start hurting due to the c-section,some nerves are still"dead",they had said it could take several months to heal, than my body was used to this awful diet and than my body went through distress with the pregnancy.I think ALL that is causing all this discomfort!!! I don't think it is 1 thing,I think it's a bunch of factorstogether. Anna, have you talked to your doctor about this? Also I am a little late, but how did your LEEP test go? when will youhave results? I keep praying for the best, enough is enough, and you have suffered enough!!! let me know!!!

Hello ladies, I hope everyone is ok. Shelly, I haven't really talked to my doctor about any of the symptons. My LEEP was an experience. My doctor was not able to complete the procedure because as soon as she started I began to bleed heavily and she spent a long time after that trying to control the bleeding. I have very painful burn marks down my legs where she tried to control it all. So she said that I will no longer have any procedure in the doctors office because of my heavy bleeding. The same thing happen during my labor. She had a hard time controlling my bleeding that I needed to have surgery after to stop it, remember I had a v____al delivery. Well, I have to wait for my results on my sc___pings, although she things the reason I bled so much is because the cancerous cells are further along than she originally thought. I am WAY too young to be going through all this. We weren't planning on having any more kids but just knowing the fact that you may not be able to anymore makes you long for more. On a better note, my Emily is doing great. She is a beautiful and happy baby that makes all this worth it. I would go through it all just to have another perfect child. Hope everyone is feeling better and enjoying their time with the little ones.

I am 32 weeks pregnant with my 3rd son and I just found out that I have gallstones also. Pain is bearable at times, nonexistant at other times, and downright horrible other times. My doctor prescribed me zantac twice a day to help control the heartburn, and it's actually helping to keep the stomach cramping under control as well. Luckily, I am able to wait until after the baby is born to have my gallbladder removed. To anyone else with this problem: stay away from super greasy or spicy foods. Stick to bland stuff as often as possible. It helps

Sory to hear you got gallstones Christy. After an attack it's good to be on a "clear" liquid diet (water, soup, sierra mist, sprite etc and toast),and a hot shower during and after an attack worked wonders as well!!! Anna, are you still around? How did the results of your test come?

wow! i wish i would have found this site sooner! i'm 14w now and had my first major attack at 4m pregnant. i'm waiting for after birth to perform the surgery, but that means my pregnancy is going sooooo slow. im on a zero-fat diet in the meantime, had viscious m/s which seems to be sticking around (just got back from visiting the porcelain gods) and now the doctors are testing me for fructose intolerance on top of everything. man...i really want this baby, it's our first, so we were very excited, but at the rate i'm going, im scared this pregnancy is going to kill me!

Yourtrish,I can totally understand how you feel, you may want to read some of the "earlier" posts.I was 16 weeks pregnant when I had my first attack, went through the pregnancy and got mine removed 3 months after my c-section.Tami on the other hand got really sick,it was blocking her liver and had hers taken out and she did great. If it is unbearable they can take it out during pregnancy, the best time for that is in the second half of your second trimester.Let me know if you have any questions, btw my meds during pregnancy was Lortabs for the pain and Levsin to helpduring an attack. My baby is 7 months old and very healthy!!!
