Irregular Sac Slow Heart Rate

I am 5 weeks pregnant. I had an u/s yesterday due to bleeding. They said the baby has a slow heart rate and the sac is irregular. The midwife said she is not overly optimistic of the pregnancy continuing? Has anyone had a similar situation? What were the results?
