Well, I am pregnant again. I am afraid that it will end in a miscarriage again. If the tests keep getting darker I will go to my OB/GYN again.

I have the mirena and I am 7 weeks pregnant. Doc is taking out IUD tomorrow. 50% chance i'll miscarriage. I'm praying everything goes well. i'd use another form of birth control. I know personally a few women who got pregnant with mirena. I think statistics are wrong.

Hello again ladies. I have an apointment with my obgyn July 13. I have had tender breat, turning purple on the nipple. I have had discharge from my b___st and brownish discharge from my bottom. I have also felt flutters that are getting stronger this month. I have taken hpt 1 neg and 1 not sure. I have had the merina in for almost 4 yrs. I really would not mind being pregnant again. A 3rd child would be a 3rd blessing. I do not like this birth control. There are more cons than pros with merina. I think we will either have a Vasectomie or tubes tide in the near future.

Hello, I just found this thread and I have info. posted on another thread like this one on this same sight. I am looking for support and advise. I recently found out that I am pregnant and I have a copper IUD still in place. I want desperatly to keep this pregnancy. The doctor tried to remove the IUD and the strings broke off. The bottom of the IUD is sticking into the inside of my cervix like a needle. I spot daily and I am soooooo scared that I will misscarry. I had blood work done and it is NOT a tubal pregnany, which I guess is common with an IUD in place, so that is good news. The doctor wants to do surgery to remove the IUD, but there is a high risk of a miscarrage. I have another ultasound schedualed for Fri. the 7th to see where the baby is compared to the IUD. This will help me get a better understanding of the risk to the baby to leave the IUD in. What I want to know is, is there anyone out there that has had a sucsessful pregnancy after removing the IUD? Is there anyone that can tell me about their experience of a healthy baby born with an IUD still in place? What are my chances and what are the risks that I should know about? If anyone could help me I would so appreciate it. Thankyou, Vicki

Hi people (UK) seams like we are all having problems, I had the merina coil fitted Nov 05, I bled for 6 weeks and I have not bled since, I have on numerous occasions thought I was pregnant as have had many signs, but had negative tests, now my b___sts have started to spontaniously lactate! been to the doctors who says this could just be a side affect but has ordered blood tests !!

Vicki - I'm wondering what you found out on the 7th. I have a Mirena IUD (still in place - the strings are in the right place) and I'm pregnant. I took a test yesterday. I see the Dr tomorrow, but am also wondering if it's possible to carry a baby to term.

Hi everyone... I just realized this weekend that I am 2 weeks late with the paragaurd. I got it in March and had no problems other than super heavy periods and my husband complaining about the strings. My periods were still on time with it so I am terrified with it being late. It seems that with the minera it is common to have pregnancy symptoms and not be pregnant but not with the paragaurd. I would love another baby, but not right now... my husband says 3 are enough and we should quit. I took a test and it was negative, but it was a really cheap one and I don't feel I can trust it...I am torn a million ways on what I feel and am dying to either get a positive test or my period. I know it would kill me if I were to lose a baby (we almost lost our son when I was 8 weeks), but am afraid to be pregnant again right now.. I have had 3 c-sections...7 1/2 years ago, 18 months ago, and 6 months ago. My dr said it was not save to stretch my uterus again so soon so I got the IUD because he said it was fool proof..."go home and try it out" (his exact words!!!!) Any advice? Also I know it is more likely to be a tubal pregnancy with the IUD... it that more likely to produce a false negative test? Thanks to anyone who can help me out!!!!

QUESTION?????? If I could feel longer strings last week and no I am not imagining this, promise, than I can this week and i mean like it seems like the string is at the cervix and I can feel either the iud, I dont know what it feels like, kind of like spongy plastic ( ? ) but it doesn't feel like my cervix. I swear but the string has gotten shorter. I have gotten my period in 14 days now, and have mild cramping like my AF is coming, b___st tenderness, fatigure, increaed appet_te, 3 weeks ago I got such a sharp pain inmy lower while I was walking through wal-mart that I grabbed onto the shelf and almost cried out loud, i had tears strolling down my face. Anyways, my teeth have started bleeding when I brush and I have blue lines runnning down my b___sts. I have had 2 neg tests, 2 faintly positive, and another negative. Whats going on? I am 22 have 3 children and goign through a nasty divorce, and I'm trying not to stress because if I am pregnant I want the baby, but I just want to be sure. I called the dr. and he is going out of town and I cant get in until aug.4 I am tired of wasting my money on tests and am starting to experience smell nausea, like certain smells make me sick. Please help anyone. I am getting used to being pregnant and wouldn't mind it, but..... I'm curious if anyone on the IUD got pregnant and could feel the strings and a week later the string is like non-existent?

I thought that all of the symptoms I am having were all in my head. I went to the Dr. yesterday to have my IUD checked and take a prego test. It came up neg. The Doc said the strings were in the right place, and that I probably had the fleu, he didn't sound convinced and I don't know if I trust a Family Prac. to a OBGYN. I don't know when my last period was because my memory is horrible. Has anyone else had negative tests and still been pregnant? If so how long until you found out? After reading this forum I am starting to think there is a problem with IUD's. Also I have a small pain in my abdomen, I'm just throwing that in if anyone has any insight on it. Thanks

Vicky i saw your post and i got so sad,,and felt your pain.. i dont know if you have read any all of the posts..but i was in your shoes not too long ago.. I too got prego with my IUD in place.. I had the MIRENA IUD..and the strings broke off when the doctor tried to remove it.. :( i thoght for sure i would miscarrie my baby, and i would get an infection. I was so scare.. while i was pregnant we were able to see the IUD in sonogram until i was 17 weeks or so..after that we couldnt see it.. I did get lots of weird pains, and lots of visits to the ER thinking i was getting an infection...my mind playing tricks on me.. however after 37 weeks of worries, and hopes.. i delivered a baby boy..who was born healthy, and so beautiful... while i was prego there were other moms like me..who also went to have healthy babies despite the IUD still in utero. When i delieverd my baby however the IUD was no where to be found..nobody knows till this date..four months later after i delivered where is the IUD.. i dont know nor do i care.. i just know that my baby was born, and it is posible to have a good pregnancy even thou the IUD is in.. just be aware of infection, and try NOT to worry.. I KNOW it is hard.. God bless you and good luck..

THEMAGS2000, Thank you for responding to my posting. It is so nice to hear positive outcomes, and to have emotional support! I went to the doctor today, one week after the surgical removal of my IUD, and they did an ultasound (my third one so far) and the baby is fine!!! yeah!!! I am 7 weeks, 4 days pregnant. I saw the babie's heartbeat and got to take home pictures of the baby. I am so excited. The doctor said that the risk of a miscarrage caused from the IUD has pa__sed, but that I still have a risk of infection from the procedure itself for one more week. She said to watch closely for a fever. I have been spotting sense the surgery, so I can not use that as a sign of infection and she said that slight cramping is normal in early pregnany, so I can not go by that as a sign of infection either. I have my next doctors appointment in four weeks, just like a normal pregnancy. I am so happy that this IUD scare is close to over for me and that all is turning out well. What a nightmare!!! I will keep reading this board and I will pray for all of you that are experiencing the negitive effects of IUD's. good luck to you all. SWEETELISE, HOW ARE YOU DOING? HOW DID YOUR DOCTORS APPOINTMENT GO? I hope all is going well for you.

Well... I went to the dr yesterday and they acted like I was crazy that there is no way with the paragaurd to get pregnant. Their pee test came up neg, so I went foe a blood test and am dying to find out the results! I am now almost 3 weeks late! I have never ever been this late... this is so frustrating. I've convinced myself that I'm not pregnant even though it was hard to do. But honestly... I have an 18 month old and a 6 month old... I don't need next spring to have a 26 month old, a 14 month old and a new born!!!! If this blood test comes up positive then we will deal with it. HAS ANYONE HAD A NEG PEE TEST BUT A POS BLOOD TEST?????

gypsychic - July 20

I got a bood test today it turned out to be negative. I guess I should be convinced now but I still don't feel right. Has anyone had a neg. test and still been pregnant? I thought I had read that in some of the past notes but there are so many women with the same story it is hard to keep track. -Vicki t when I was reading all the other stories I noticed quite a few women that had neg urine tests but poss blood tests. I hope everything works out well for you. If anyone has had a neg blood test, and still been prego, please let me kno, I hate this feeling of wondering when the tests sayNO and I don't believe them.

Dampeople - July 20

I'm going into get an IUD tomorrow and I had a question. Will my husband be able to feel it at all while we are having s_x?

gypsychic - July 20

Dampeople_ sometimes, my husband has been poked before and it made him bleed. I thought it was rather funny but the next time we were intimate I could tell he was a little apprehensive. The strings eventually wrapped around my cervix so he couldn't feel it anymore.
