Well I took a HPT and it was neg. So that makes me feel a lil better. When I talk to my dr. about it he makes me feel like i'm a idiot, and I really really have always loved my ob, His response is always, "do you feel your strings" and sometimes i do, although my string are cut very short, everytime i go to feel for them and i cant feel them i kinda freak out a lil bit in my mind. LOL. I have never had a real period the whole time I've had my IUD, (I really havent missed it)LOL. some months I barely spot, but just enough for me to notice when I wipe. And then sometimes I dont even do that. I Will def, be praying for you gals that are going through a rough time now. just hang in there and keep you chin up!!:)

I took the hpt and it was negative then when I went to have my iud looked at they done a blood test it was positive. Much to my suprise.. lol .. As far as the doctor goes they might think they know but they dont until they actually see you and check you out.. For instance I called mine and they said for me to take a pg test and if its negative then maybe its a infection .. lol so its always good to go anyway..

Holly, I really agree with you. Although my pg test was neg. and I no longer feel pg (my period finally came, though very light), I truly agree with you that going to the doctor and actually having them check you and your body out thoroughly is the best thing...and never mind them when they make you feel that way. They are human too and make mistakes just like us. And remind them that just because they deal with this everyday with hundreds of patients doesn't mean that they can treat you like you should know what the heck is going on. You are only worried about you. And they should understand that. And personally I think that if they are getting irritated by us women constantly calling them with questions or going in with concerns, then they shouldn't be prescribing these things in the first place!! And also, Holly, I want to let you know that I really think you are doing a great service for these women by continuing to support and advise them through their concerns, especially with what you have endured in the last few months. Keep it up girl, we need more women out there like you!!

I'm still here...lurking, with my IUD driving me nuts. I'm waiting to hear back from the midwife who inserted mine so I can see what she thinks & if she wants to see me. That would certainly make me feel better! Has anyone here, either pg with IUD or not pg, had a leakage of fluid with their IUD? It's happened a few times, but not regular. It'll feel like a small gush of liquid, almost like the start of a period but it's clear with no odor. Once or twice it was pink-tinged. It is very watery though, totally different from a normal discharge. It comes from higher up, it's certainly not pee. Any experiences, ideas? Thanks!

well heres another story to add to what seems to be the never ending let downs of a device that was praised by the Dr.'s who insterted them. I had mine put in because every other form of BC has failed i have had to have 2 DnC's and the last one was in Aug 04. the Dr. a__sured me that with this new miricale BC i could rest easy and begin to move on I have 2 beautiful girls 5 & 2 and had just recently been accepted to the Canadian Navy. I was waiting for my call to leave for basic training when the little signs started to appear, but hey it couldn't happen to me I was pertected. Wrong, I found out this morning that i am yet again pregnant and now have to go threw all the Dr. appt to determine the fate of my possible child and my future! What a let down and miricale all in one swift b__w. So do you think when the FDA approved this device they knew what a terrible little thing it truely was. I will keep you all posted as to the out come of this particular story and hope to hear how the rest of you are doing. Yours truley, Would have been Soldier !!

Eva thank you so much ... God bless you.. I don't mind helping any of you because I know how it feels to be there and stress.. I know how it feels to be let down by something thats supposed to be a prevention and not an abortion or cause problems that you didnt have to begin with. I am here and always will be for each and every one of you.

Kelly. I am sorry for your loses and I am hope and pray this one goes ok for you. I know how it is to have to wait just to know if are really pregnant and when you find out you are get put through hell just to see if it is a valid pregnancy. I think the FDA has to know something its just going to take a few good law suits before they will truly look into it. As you notice this is the only site you can find that women can go to ask questions and get awnsers about the iud. I haven't found a site as good as this one.. Women going through what seems to be a series of test to determine whether or not the iud is actually what they say it is. I dont know how to go forurth with getting our voices heard. I have searched sites but again nothing as far as law in that subject. I am not a college graduate or do not have a degree but I am a loving mother of two boys and I know what it feels like to be let down thats enough to let your voice be heard..

IMMEDIATELY CALL YOUR CARE GIVER IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPENS: you cannot feel the string you feel the end of the IUD at the end of your cervix the IUD comes out you miss a period

Well heres the update, Yesterday I did a HPT around 10:30 and it was a bright and clear positive and then around 2pm i did another because i was in such disbelife, so i went to the Emrg. and they had me waiting there for 5 hours for them to come back and tell me that my blood work tells them I am not pregnant!! I am now sitting here with this very unsatisfied feeling. I have had this sorta thing happen before where my HPT test back positive and the Doc.'s in New brunswick told me after a blood work and ultrasound that i was not pregnant. For me to go back in a few weeks time and find out i was indeed pregnant. So at this point I am not entierly convinced but my partner is being very suppostive and has got me into thinking that i will wait until the end of the week and try another brand of HPT and see what sort of results we get from that. what a whirl wind of chaos this is becoming. Sadest part is we were both not expecting this to happen but we soo soo upset when he told us no last night. This was something we could have been very excited about

I know exactly the feeling.. Hold in there I am sure the hpt wouldn't have come up positive for no reason.

Thats what i figure i did one back in April just to see what it would come up as and to make sure, since it seems no one gets a regular period with this thing. and 2x's it cam back neg. now why would things be any different unless in fact there is really something growing in my belly and i am just into my gestation so little that there work couldn't pick it up?? who know . Anxiously awaiting the next results. Thanks for all your support

Hi! I am so glad I found this post. I am getting my para-guard IUD out ASAP. I have been debating for the last 3 months. My periods are very weird and come every 2-3 weeks and the last one was 8 days long. I am a mother of 3 girls already 2 form my previous marriage and my husband and I would like another one but I do not want to risk any problems, since I suffered a miscarriage a month before I got my IUD in in December of 04. I am a little worried now because I have only spotted for the last 3 days and no heavy period. It also hurt last time my husband and I had s_x. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers to all of you going through such stressful times.

I totally agree with your decision to get the iud removed there is a big difference in trying to prevent pregnancy and the like iud make complications with a pregnancy. Like me I was ok that I was pregnant it wasn't my fault for trying to prevent it but I embra__sed it like many other woman have. But to be let down like that can be overwhalming. I hope everythng goes ok with you. And again you in my opinion you are making the right decision. If you are going to get pregnant let it be a healthy valid one.. :- )

Hi, No I haven't experienced something like this... however, I feel that I may be in your same situation... For now, I would simply "pray" about it and just ask the Higher Power to guide you on what to do.... I will be thinking about you.
