Hi, No I haven't experienced something like this... however, I feel that I may be in your same situation... For now, I would simply "pray" about it and just ask the Higher Power to guide you on what to do.... I will be thinking about you.

I had an IUD baby with the copper-t. They were never able to remove it. I actually delivered it when I delivered my healthy 9lb3oz baby boy (he is now 17 mo.) It was the most stressfull thing I have ever experienced in my life!!! I got the Mirena this time...what are the chances of haveing 2 IUD babies?? Well, what got me to this site is the fact that I may once again be pregnant! Good Luck!! I could never find a good story on the web when I found out I was preg. Anyone with questions please e-mail me christi_p32@yahoo.com

Christi i just read your post.. i would take the IUD out immediately especially since you have already gotten prego with the IUD to begin with.. I am 10 weeks pregnant with the MIRENA IUD, and they cant remove it.. i am so worry bout misscarriage, and infection.. why would you consider this type of bc again after your history? I would never recommend it or use it again.. please ease my mind.. lol your son was a healthy boy! im praying for the same

Hey well I am sorry to hear about that i now have the copper IUD in but want it taken out every time I go to the doctor by the time they have talk with me and insure me that my IUD is in place that the chances of me getting pregnant are very slim but if I were to get pregnant again I want my tubes tied burnt and everything I am 23 with 3 childern I tried to get them to do that after my third child in 2003 but they talked me into getting an IUD in place instead

Ethi-I don't know why I got the IUD again. I swore I would never use it again, and I also told everyone I knew to remove them right away. But after I had my son I just figured what are the chances of getting preg. again?? And I also did not like any other form of bc. my husband is going to get fixed after this scare!! I am very sorry you have to live through this, if you ever want to talk please e-mail me. I had to set up a new one- xoxo2myboys@yahoo.com I wish I could have had someone to talk with during my pregnancy, there was nothing positive on the web. My doc told me to stay off cause it was freaking me out way to bad. The risk of miscarriage reduces alot after 15 weeks. The worst thing is doctors really dont know much about pregnancy w/IUD. My doc was straight forward about telling me this. There just is not enough research on it, so it has to be really hard to help patients. Well good luck!

No real words of wisdom, but usually a pregnancy develops on either side of the uterus midway, not below(I think you mean the lower region) this is usually where an IUD is located, lower part of the uterus with a retrival "cord" just outside of the cervix. Did your IUD then travel, according to what your physician has told you? I have NEVER heard of one being irretrivable, and this would cause me some considerable concern if I were you. My words of wisdom...Seek a second opinion to see if what your current doctor is saying is correct. Your body, your pregnancy. Protect yourself anyway you need to. Good luck.

I have to put a silver lining on this cloud. I had my IUD put in in feb. two months after my daughter was born and never had a period since. My cramps r gone my bloatings gone and NO problems what so ever. I am sorry for the women who where unfortunate and it didnt work properly, but u HAVE ot think out of the THOUSANDS of women that have the IUD in place u r just a few for whom it has failed in addition to that think about thi: when u whent in to have it placed didnt ur dr. tell u that it was only 99.9%effective, well mine did it has the same success rate as the pill or a condom but people arent on here bashing trojans. the think the IUD is one of the greatest birth control methods avalible out there, I and I will continue to use it for years to come. To all those it failed good luck with ur pregnancies and be greatful god gave u a gift.

I am sorry last time I checked this site was for people with problems with there IUD's not people who have to gloat on there perfectly working IUD. No one here asked to have problems and just please allow us to be p__sed off about it.! It really makes me furious that you would come on here and tell people what they already know we are not stupid we are woman who have been through some troublesome times and for you to question that its just rude.. Until you have been through something like any of these woman have you are very welcome to come back and talk about it. But As far as I am concerned not only does god give gifts!! The iud destroys it..

Oh on another note.. I knew it was 99.9% effective what me and many others didnt know is: If you do get pregnant that chances are it could be a tubal pregnancy,Miscarriage! And if you do get pregnant some women can't have there iud removed without having a miscarriage or also if you choose to leave it in thats when I say may god bless you. because there are so many risks not only pregnancy but infections too. Like my iud it slipped out of place and I had to have it removed. After it was removed I bled worse ending in a miscarriage.. What you dont see is all the supposedly 1% of the woman that have to go through these things. Just because your iud is doing well don't mean you can not have problems so please save your breathe. God bless you and i hope you dont have to go through what any of us are having or had too.

Yes-for many the IUD is wonderful! I thought so untill I got preg., and I again got another. Probably a mistake.But....if you happen to get preg. (yes the chances are slim) you are way worse off than a person using any other form of bc. The IUD poses so many risks with pregnancy throughout the duration of the pregnancy and up to the minutes after the baby has been delivered, and unfortunatly there are not many success story's. With any other form of bc you can just stop the use, and your risks (if any) are very slim. I am glad the IUD works for you, many people love it. For the people posting here we have not had such a wonderful experience with the IUD, and this posting is to support and live through the horrible experience together!!!!

I aggree to keep pressing on, see a specialist and get 2,3rd opinions. Meanwhile, Oh, My God! I am so freaking out reading all these responses. Do any of you happen to have Paraguard...and pregnant too? I need to get a prego test. Just a month ago, my paraguard was coming out. The Doc. put a whole new one in, but I'm about a week late. I just keep waiting for that period to come.

I'm headed in tomorrow to have my Mirena checked. I still haven't had a cycle while having my IUD. It was inserted in Dec. 04, but I was b___stfeeding until April/May. Plus, I have odd cycles anyway...it's not unusual for me not to menstrate when not on any BC at all, but I thought the hormones from the IUD may cause me to. I have gotten 2 negative HPTs so I'm pretty sure I am not pg. I'm just having weird spotting & fluid leaking and need to make sure my IUD is where it should be & not causing any trouble. I'm so glad I found this board though...I'm shocked at how many are getting pg with an IUD. My husband is getting his vasectomy next week, and I plan on removing this things as soon as we get the 'all clear'.

Holly - August 25

Hang in there girls. Haunani- Did your doctor give you are pregnancy test after he took the other iud out? Mine did. i was going to get another one put in but it turned out i was pregnant. Alicia- I think it is the mens turn to try to prevent it.. LoL You are doing the right thing.. i hope all goes well with you and husbands vasectomy..

You know, that one lady was RUDE!! Just because she isn't having any problems right now doesn't mean she won't later! I would really like to hear her thoughts if she did end up with problems! And maybe she won't. But you all were right by saying that this forum is for people experiencing these problems, and if they weren't they wouldn't even be here talking in the first place!! What in the world was she doing on a site that's for MALFUNCTIONING IUD's when she's advocating it? This makes no sense to me and sounds a little sketchy.
