Progesterone Dropping

lea-thanks for your response! the color you described is exactly what I've been experiencing. Like a "salmonish" color. Any you are right, I am constantly examining every time I use the bathroom! Having had many miscarriages, I am on edge about everything. It's comforting to hear from someone else first hand that they have had a similar experience. That helps but my mind at ease. Now, I'm wondering if I should even stop the prochieve (I asked to be put on suppositories instead because the color was freaking me out). Anyway, thanks again. Best wishes with your pg!

Cat- I had the same thing... but very light. You could only see it slightly on the toilet paper and not every time either. Just here and there but it was such a small amount. As far as staying on the prochieve, I would, just because you have had 3 m/cs before and this one is going good while your on it. It doesn't hurt to stay on it, plus once your 12 weeks along, you don't have to worry about it any longer. I just re-read your first posting and you said 2 of your m/c were when you were 4 weeks along. Was that 4 weeks from LMP or from when you concieved? You hear about that A LOT, that so many woman actually m/c 4 weeks or before and most the time don't even know they were pregnant. Oh and you also said most woman had a HCG of 2000 at 6 weeks. At 6 weeks mine was just over 6500. But, I still m/c. Everything was good at that point, but then shortly after that (because my progesterone was low) that it started failing. I am so looking forward to when I find out I'm preg. again, because I have learned so much and am so much more knowledged on what I need. :) Cat- keep us posted just how your doing. Even if you stop reading these forums. I'm wishing you the best!!

Daniella-to answer your question, it was 4 wks past lmp. the only way I even knew I was pg was because I have short cycles, 26 days. So I ovulate between day 10 and 12. So I am able to take an hpt a few days earlier than the norm. If I never tested, I would have just a__sumed I was getting af late. You are right. This happens very often, and women don't even realize they are pg. Thanks so much for your encouragment. I will keep you in my prayers that you will conceive and carry a healthy baby to term. As for the prochieve, I think I will stay on it. Now that I have heard other women experience the same thing, that it's not abnormal, I think I will tough it out 4 more weeks! Thanks!

Cat... I had the exact same thing. I was on Prog 8% and my discharge was pink and gray. It was totally no big deal for me. Now, I am 15 weeks. Hang in there.

Dani - August 5

I too was on Crinone 8% gel, the white-pinkish discharge is the gel! All the gel doesn't stay in the uterus, what goes up must come down. I had the discharge until I stopped the suppostories at 12-13 weeks. I actually had a few days after I stopped that it was still discharging a little. Now, I am almost 15 weeks, no discharge. So it is the gel, for sure!

Thanks, ladies. Now that I know many women have experienced the "pink" in the discharge form the gel, I am pretty sure I will continue on it instead of switching to the suppositories. Good luck to all!

Daniella - August 9

Cristal- Wow, if I was you I'd already have run my a__s to the store and bought a hpt. lol... That was almost a week ago that your progesterone was that high. That would be driving me crazy not knowing. :)

becky - August 9

Betty, I hope the progesterone does work, for your sake and mine! my dr just perscribed it for me. the suppository type. i've never been pregnant, because the wall of my uterus is not thick enough to sustain an embryo. the progesterone is suppose to thicken the walls of my uterus. hope it works for both of us!

cristal - August 11

Daniella,it is driving me crazy,im going to wait to see if i start before i take a test ,everyone i have talked to sems to think im pregnant, we will see af is around the 13 Aug,i will let you know!!!!!!!!! baby dust to all!!!!

Daniella - August 11

Cristal- its been some time.... you don't want to take a hpt just to see? it wont hurt. If everyone (and probably including you) think that you may be pregnant.... why don't you take a hpt? it shows up as early as 25 hcg. Wouldn't hurt... plus, I know its got to be driving you crazy. ;) Hope the best of luck. Keep updated!!!

Hi I just wanted to update, I'll be 14 wks on mon. Last week I stopped the supp. and I had an appt. with my midwife I was very excited we got to hear the hb for the first time. It was awesome ! Back in 4 wks. but I feel great about it all. My levels were so low last we checked 5.4 but everything looks great, just want everyone to know there is hope.

Hi - I would love some advice from you guys. I have had 3 m/c. One was at 4wks pg (from lmp), the next was at 5wks, 3days pg, and the last was a blighted ovum. On the first ovulation after my 2nd m/c (before AF returned), my progesterone was only 6.1 on 8dpo. The next month, when I was already pg again, my progesterone was 12.9 at 12dpo (when I was pg). They put my on supplements right away, but by then, my HCG levels were already very bad. Once I started the supplements, my HCG levels shot up, but after a few weeks u/s showed that it was a blighted ovum, and either the embryo never grew, or stopped growing at around 5 weeks. On my first ovulation after my D&C, my progesterone was 9.1 at 8dpo and then 1 AF later, it was only 2.3 but that was at 10dpo and my AF came the next day (which is why it was so low). I think I have an issue with progesterone b/c I think I am having trouble with implantation. I think I need to take progesterone right after ovulation, but I'm nervous to try again and take the supplements b/c of all of the contraversy of them not working. They definitely didn't help with my last m/c, but like I said, the HCG numbers were already really bad by the time I started them (way too low and not doubling correctly). I am nervous about ttcing again with supplements and the other option is to take a fertility drug instead like Clomid which could naturally raise progesterone levels. Do any of you have an opinion? Do you think my numbers sound low? Thanks!! I'm so happy for all of the successful pregnancies I've read.

Daniella - August 18

Shilpa- Taking progesterone supplements right after you "know for fact" that you had ovulation, will not hurt you. Its completely natural and out of all studies, no where has it been found to hurt you. Only help you! The other factor may be something none progesterone related. A bad pregnancy (regardless of hormone problem or not) will result in your levels not being at good standing. Which may make you think you have a problem in which you may not. But, it wouldn't hurt to take progesterone supplements just in case since it wont hurt anyhow. Thats what the dr. is going to do for me because we "know" that I have a progesterone problem. I have to supplement as soon as I ever find out Im pregnant. I would rather take it once I find out Im preg. instead of trying to take it when I ovulate. If you take it when you ovulate but you don't conceive, it will make it longer for your next af to come. You obviously don't have a problem for it implanting if you've been preg. 3 times. But, you may have a problem (like me) just sustaining it. Have the dr. done any testing?

shoop - August 20

At 5 wks I started to bleed. Went to my Dr. on the next Mon. and he said he needed to do 2 series of bloodwork. The first would be done on Monday(the dy I saw him) and the second set had to be done in 2 days which would make it on Wednesday. He called me that Wednesday and said my HcG was very high and that was good but my progesterone was only at a 7.5 which is less than 1/2 of what it should be. So, he called me in some Prometrium 200mg to be taken v____ally right before bedtime every night until 12 weeks. At 6w2d my Dr. had me come in for u/s and said everything looks great. The baby is developing/growing good the heartbeat is at 123 which he said is good. I go back to see hom the 30 of this month and he said we would check my levels again. Does all of this sound right? I have no clue. I have had 1 pregnancy before this and did not have this problem, granted my child from first pregnancy is now 9. Just need some advice as if it sounds like my Dr. knows what he is doing or not?

Kim - August 20

Hello all this has given me hope where I am 6 wks today. I had a beta and progesterone 8-11 and the levels were 73 for beta and 12 for progesterone. I had a repeat beta and progesterone 8-18 and my levels were 739 and my progesterone had dropped to 9. I am terrified that I am having another m/c I had one in May and I can't believe this might be happening again. I go in for a repeat Wednesday. I didn't want to start progesterone again since both of my losses I had low progesterone and still went on to see a heartbeat and then lose the baby a week to two weeks later. I am trying to stay hopeful but its very difficult.
