I have been trying to post this for two days but the site wouldn't let me! Hi again Heidi, I am so glad you have been responding. It is really nice to have someone who knows what you are going through. I am sorry to hear your numbers are dropping. My ultrasound is not until Thursday, so until then, I will not know if the pregnancy is good. From what my Dr. said last week and the fact that they saw an empty sac and the low progesterone, I could miscarry any day too. I hate not knowing. I am still hoping they are wrong. I was going to call today and ask for progesterone supp. but I was so busy at work. I am really not in the mood for work either. Thanks again for responding. I'll keep you posted. Hang in there.

I am 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby and my doctor called me today to say I have a low progesterone level of 11.2 and it should be 15. I've had no indications of problems (i.e. bleeding, etc). She prescribed a v____al supplement and said that I should only be on it for 5-6 weeks. She said there shouldn't be any long-term side effects since I'm taking it early on in the pregnancy. I'm going to take it because progesterone is important to the nurishment of the placenta. Anything for a healthy pregnancy and baby. It's good to know there are other mothers who can relate and help out. Sometimes reading the web only scares you more. Good luck and thanks.

I have been posting on and off but I thought I would share my progress to give others hope. I am now eight weeks pg. My progesterone started at 21 and dropped to 13 a week later. I was started on prometrium 100mg twice a day, the week later it went up to 15 so I started to take 200mg twice a day and the next week it went up to 18. I just got my results back for the last draw and my levels went to 72. I really believe that the rx really helped me in the beginning and I now believe that my own body is starting to take over and produce it on its own, hence the large jump in the last week. I have also had spotting if you have read my previous post, none for a week now. Saw the baby on the ultrasound with a heartbeat at 171 bpm. I am very excited!!! Hope that gives some of you hope!

I feel for everybody here. I had a miscarriage at at 12 weeks but the fetus had actually died at 10 weeks. I had a D&C. We found out that the baby had a genetic chromosome disorder. So we started trying again, but my progesterone level was only .4, so I was put on Clomid 50 Mg on cycle days 5-9. My progesterone test 7 days after ovulation came back at 54.1 this time. I found out that I was pregnant and went in for a hcg level test. That test showed a level of 754 at 4 wks 6 days. I started having cramping and bleeding. It continued through the night and the next day I had severe pain in my left side. I went to the doctor and they did a trans-v____al ultrasound and could not find a yolk sac but did find that I had a large cyst on my ovary. The bleeding eased off and the doctor wanted to do another blood test to rule out an ecoptic pregnancy. Well the results came back with a progesterone level of 70 but my hcg level dropped to 463 these tests were done at 5 wks 1 day. Now the doctor is concerned that I am having a failing pregnancy and wants to do another test tomorrow morning which will put me at 5 wks 3 days to find out what my levels are. This is so frustrating. The doctor thinks that if I do lose this pregnancy that both my husband and I will have to go through genetic counseling to find out why we can't achieve a normal pregnancy. I feel for everyone and am keeping my fingers crossed that my hcg will increase dramatically tomorrow and that I will have a normal and healthy pregnancy, but things just aren't looking too good at this point.

Hi, I just found this website. I just rec'd a call from the doc. Hcg is down from 38 to 31 and prog is 5.8. I feel so completely alone right now. I've been trying over a year and this is my first pregnancy. I've only known for two days; I didn't even have time to enjoy it. Had brown spotting yesterday. Cramps today. Where do you find the strength to try again? Michelle in OKC

God had to lead me to this page for comfort, and I'm so happy with what I've been reading. I'm 6 weeks PG and started having a very light pinkish discharge, very light cramping. I spoke to my Dr. who said 50% of PG women may experience this and told me she would have me get some blood work done. I got the results today and my progesterone was 13.8 and my HCG was 340. I had the test down on tuesday of this week and will have more blood work done on this comming tuesday. My Dr. believes my levels should have doubled or trippled by this time. I have a very stong faith and I believe that with Christ all things are possible. The Dr. syas not to worry or stress, but as mothers how do you do this??? my husband has been very supportive and we are praying for the best.

My hcg levels have been up 2x then down 2x and up 3x. My progesterone lvls are too low, 4 wk 7 and 2.2 wk10. Dr. doesn't seem to have any explanation and claim can't do U/S until the hcg counts are above 1000. As of yesterday my hcg lvl were only 573. I am not giving up until I know for sure what is going on. Blessings.

Well, I just got back my hcg level test results and they are now down to 224. The doctor says that I am miscarrying and that I should have a full miscarriage in about 7 days. I am so upset. I now need an x-ray on my uterus to make sure everything is fine once I have my full miscarriage. The doctor recommended that we have genetic testing on both my husband and I. I think that we are just going to try again in about two months and if it happens again, then we will do the testing. We are not giving up hope!

Has anyone experienced a low bbt after ovulation? I know that I ovulated and then my temperature rose .04 and then it stayed up for 4 days and then it dropped down below the temp I ovulated at and has stayed low for 10 days now with no rise. I am almost positive that I am pregnant, but am worried that my progesterone is so low that it will not hold the pregnancy. Has anyone experienced this?

hi every body, Right now i am 9 weeks pregnant and i had one miscarriage before, my doctor checked my progestrone level and its down from 12.3 to 10.5 . she prescribed me prometrium. i stared it from yesterday but i scar that is it harm ful for fetus or not. plz if some body know about it plz let me know.

Eiyam, I was told that the prometrium was not harmful because it is the replica of what your body should be making. All I know is that without a high progesterone level, the baby does not have a chance. Look on the internet for progesterone supplements. Out of many sites I have gone to, all but one say that prog. supps are harmless. J - How are you doing? How was your U/S yesterday? Did they find a fetus in the sac? I hope so! Please keep me informed. Well, my husband and I went to the doctor today and they think that I am having an ectopic pregnancy. My levels are staying around the 500's and they are not dropping...but they are not doubling. This is indicitive of an ectopic pregnancy. They want me to miscarry on my own, but if I don't soon, they will have to give me injections to make the miscarriage happen. We are very upset, but we're keeping the hope!

Heidi, Thanks for checking up on me. U/S went well, or so I thought. They found an embryo, with a heartbeat and I was thrilled it wasn't a blighted ovum. The heartbeat was slow which was not a good sign but at least I thought there was hope. Then the doc called today with the results of the bloodwork they took. Hcg was down from 7000 to 6000 and Progesterone was down from 7 to 6. The doc feels miscarriage is imminent. We are very disappointed. This is our first pregnancy. We have to go back Mon. for another u/s and see if there is still a heartbeat, then decide to do D&C or miscarry naturally. This Christmas is looking gloomier and gloomier :( If you are having an ectopic pregnancy, can't they save it somehow? Although this is hard for all of us, I still believe things are meant to be and take comfort in that. I hope you can too.

hi Heidi, its eiyam ,thanx 4 ur satisfactory reply you should don't worry every thing will be alright.my all prays with u. my u/s will be on 28th dec and its very painful period to me wait one week more. but any way i still hope of the best. heidi did u find any research which correlate low progestrone level with the s_x of the baby. becoz all of women who have low progestrone level give birth of baby girl.waiting 4 ur reply and write me ur email address then we wil remain in touch with each other.

I have a 5 yr old boy and I miscarried early this year. I am 6ks preg. I had very light red spotting and severe cramps on Sun 12-12 after orgasm for about 24-30 hrs. Went into Dr. and had blood tested Mon 12-13 Hcg 929 and Progest 15.7; tested again Wed 12-15 and Hcg 2103 and Pregest 7.6; Friday Dr. put me on Progesterone soposit. Also on Friday am I had strong cramps, almost contraction like. They lasted about 15 minutes and then went away. About 8-9 hrs after inserting progest sop., I had a little bit of red spotting, and I'm panicing. Also, my b___sts aren't as tender or tingling, etc. I go in for another ultrasound on Tues 12/21.. not sure what for though, since they won't be able to hear a heartbeat yet and I go back on 12/28 for the heartbeat. Can anyone offer hope? I'm so scared.

I am 10 weeks and was put on progesterone two weeks ago for my levels being too low. I spotted at implantation but was fine until recently when I have had brown spotting. I do know that they told me to take it at night because it will act as a sedative. It's hard not to worry about miscarrying when you are spotting.

Hi Heidi and board, I have been writing with my pregancy ups and downs, first they thought I had a blighted ovum, then they found a heartbeat but it was slow, then hormones started falling and today no heartbeat. I was supposed to be 8 weeks tomorrow. I scheduled the D&C for tomorrow because after that my doc will be on vacation and I really don't like any of her a__sociates. I started spotting last night though, and now there are some clots in it and it is getting redder. In a way, I am hoping to pa__s everything tonight so I won't have to go through with the D&C. Mostly I am just scared of what will happen either way. Anyone who wants to share stories please feel free. Just needed to put the story out there for people who understand.
