Weak Heart Beat As Sign Of Miscarriage

I found out at 5 weeks that I was pregnant with twins after having a va___al ultrasound. At 6 weeks, the babies were both growing, but they could only find the heartbeat of one of them. The doctor indicated that either the one isn't going to make it or the ultrasound wasn't able to pick it up at this time. He thought the one had a very good chance of making it. Well, this week we discovered that the one twin was disappearing (no more fetal pole) and the stronger twin's heartbeat dramatically decreased (70 beats per minute). He prepared us by saying that we are also going to lose this one very soon. We are going in tomorrow for another ultrasound to see if the heart is still beating and if it has stopped, we are going to schedule a D &C. This has caused me tremendous pain. Has anyone heard any miracles of the baby's heartrate increasing? I should say that my doctor is wonderful. He is a specialist in his field as I searched for him because of infertility problems. I will be 37 in a month and worry about my chances as I get older and older. He is also suggesting genetic testing because I lost two babies in one pregnancy, which can be considered a recurrent miscarriage. Any support or advice any of you can give me, I would greatly appreciate. My heart is just breaking as we have been trying for over 7 years.
